Help! I wanted to embroider this for my mom, but the design is so dense! My thread is breaking constantly. Is there anything I can do to decrease it? I'm using a size 11 needle, and size 40 thread. Any suggestions?
I just wanted to share a photo of what makes my heart light. Riley is 10 months old now, but these photos of her 9th month are so precious to me. Her mama is in the top left one. Grandma love is something else!
I feel as though I have reached a milestone, although it isn't earth-shattering. I use lots of pins when sewing. I use a magnetic pin-holder, and I've finally worn the finish completely off the top. Took years to do. So as a present to myself, I'm
I wanted to share what I have chosen as my goal this next year. I hope I can develop this habit. This is a quote from a designer's email newsletter. I'm not sure I can share the name, but this message is so great that I wanted all of us to read it. H
I have fallen in love with ITH zipper bags. I recently saw a tutorial about a bag, and the sewist used washi tape. I didn't even know what it was, but my daughter knew, and so I bought a small roll. I used it today, and I won't go back to painter's t
More prayer requests from me,please. My mom's cancer is in her liver, and her tumor marker number has risen again. I'm scared to lose my mom. Then, my MIL fell and my BIL let her lay in the floor all night before he decided to call an ambulance. Sh

I don't post much, but here goes: I teach a math class of 11 high school students, and because of job changes, this is probably my last class to teach every day. So, I'd like to make them each something special but I don't know enough about their cul

I have a Brother 4000, and have never used the prewound bobbins. Are they really good to use? I switch back and forth between sewing and embrodering--is that a problem with using them?
I have a Brother Innovis sewing/embroidery machine, and was told by the dealer several years ago that it was ok to use the same thread in the bobbin as the top, instead of using special bobbin thread. But yesterday, I took my machine in to a different de
