6th birthday ?! Time flies. She will look like a little princess, it's gorgeous.
This is just beautiful ~ so sweet and delicate. I especially love the two-colored ribbon.
Chris- Sorry I missed this when you had first posted- This is such a beautiful twirly dress that most young girls would just love to pieces. I am sure this was a big hit along with the full petticoat to go under it, which makes them feel like a little princess would. Great choice of pattern and materials. So glad you are doing better than you had been health wise, and hoping this next procedure will give even more relief to you. Thank you for all your sharing your family with your cute family also. Pam
Thanks so much dear Pam. I've overdone it today visiting Meg and am paying for it now. Love Chris
Chris what a stunning little dress fit for a princess. Really like the ribbon to match the whole dress also...Another master piece...love Kerry.
Thanks dear Kerry. Amy said it fits her perfectly. Still haven't seen her in it yet, but as she is now a school girl, she will only get to wear it on weekends for parties etc. Love Chris
You really sew such beautiful dresses for your grandchildren. I envy you all who can saw dresses. I wish I live close to you, they I can learn from you:-) Hugs, Mary
Thanks Mary, there is always something new to learn too. I learned how to do the top of the lining so that the zip wouldn't catch. I've been doing it a certain way for years and one of our Sewing Guild ladies is a Design and Technology teacher at our senior Catholic college here in Newcastle (where our children went to school) and she showed me how to do it. I was really chuffed. Little tricks of the trade are always wonderful to learn. Love Chris
You have been making the most beautiful dresses for your granddaughters and this one is gorgeous too, love it!
Hugs, Lidia
My Gosh Chris Ophelie sure is growing and is going to love her new dress, it is gorgeous!!
Hugs n love, me
Thanks Meg, I can't wait to see it on her. Amy loved it when she was here on Sunday. Hope you are feeling better, love Chris
very pretty Chris
Thanks Monika, can't wait to give it to her tomorrow. She is having an ice-skating party at 4.30 till 6.30. I'm making a big fruit platter for the adults and Amy will make a Zucchini slice without the bacon as a couple of her friends are vegetarians. Now that Ophelie is at school she only gets to wear pretty dresses at parties etc. Love Chris
Chris-this is the cutest ever. Love how the bodice is shaped. I would have started the dress and it would still be sitting waiting for me to be in the mood--HeHe.
Hi Patty, thanks for commenting. Yes, I just love this dress and have made a few of them over the past few years. The pattern goes from a 1 to a size 12, love Chris
This is such a beautiful twirling dress! I love your use of colors and fabrics, and the ribbons are all just perfect and fun! She will LOVE it.
Chris, I am so sorry I missed that you have been ill. I guess that must have happened while I have been recovering from my surgery. What happened? I'm glad you are getting better. I'm also just getting back to my machines. Love you, Jan
Thanks Jan, yes, I can just see Ophelie in this. We will be with her on Friday so I'll get some pictures if I can. And yes, I was ill whilst you were recovering from your surgery. I've had Trochanteric Bursitis on the top of my right thigh. It was near the Gluteus Minimus muscle two away from the hip bone! I'm going into hospital again on Thursday for another Caudal block to help relieve some of the pressure, feeling so much better than I did a few months ago though. I'm hoping you are doing better too, I've seen what you've had to go through. God bless you, love Chris
I have had bursitis in that exact location, so I know how bad that can hurt. I hope you will get the relief you need soon. You have too much to do to mess around with pain. I found out today I have severe carpal tunnel and Dupuytren's contracture in my palm. I think it is a simple day surgery for both! God bless YOU too, Jan
Am praying for healing for both of you, You are such an inspiration for me to carry on. thank you,
6 already! Wow she will be the bell of the party in this lovely dress!
Oh Chris this is a darling pattern! You have chosen lovely fabrics to create this beauty! I do like the bottom hem, that touch of green makes it all the more softer. I am happy to see your getting back to stitching things & I'm sure she will love this one too ~hugs~
Thanks Loralye, she hasn't seen it yet, and I can't wait to see it on her. I'm happy to be back sewing too. Love Chris
Love your dress, sew cute. They love twirly skirts.
A sweet little dress, Chris, you must show her wearing it. Love the colors, especially the print fabric. Great job, as always-Toogie
Yes, I've noticed, I've been watering this afternoon! Thanks for commenting. Don't worry I'm sure if I don't get a piccie Amy will send me one. They are swapping their working days this Friday to be with Ophelie all day. It's school holidays here at the moment. Kids go back to school around the 26,27th April. Love Chris
Adorable. Love the scallop effect. Great job. mk
Thanks so much, yes it's part of the top bodice pattern. Makes it a beautiful dress. You can of course make this in one, two or three fabric choices. I prefer the three as I think it's great for contrast. Love Chris
This is so beautiful. I know she will love it. So glad you back to sewing.
