I spent all weekend working on my quilt top & finished it last night. I was so happy to have come up with a plan for it that I didn't realize until it was all finished that I stitched one of the sides on upside down so now the engines look like they will drive into each other sigh..............I have to take out all the stitched of the black/grey tracks & remove one whole side & restitch back together. I am worried that all my tracks will become undone when I pick out the stitches SIGH............I do want to thank all the cuties who helped me with the applique process (Kim & others too) I enjoyed the applique process more then I thought I would. The center nine patch blocks are from many kerchiefs that my grand-daughter bought me after my brain surgery, I thought this would have great sentimental value for her. I have 4 left & plan to use them to make the back of the quilt & am hoping to embroider a verse for her too. This quilt is all about the journey & not so much about the destination. It will fit a double bed nicely

Hi Cuties,
I'm 70 and still quilting. I've got a huge stash, bunches of patterns I want to do and embroider. For those who put labels on the back, do them directly on the backing (embroider) or sew your label on then have it quilted. That way no one can take your label off. I finished 6 quilt tops and 4 more started while on vacation. Best vacations ever, Keep quilting, Ladies.
God bless,
Jane

It is gorgeous!!! Don't change a thing. The Amish say that only God is perfect so they always put a mistake in their quilts. I do too. To find their mistakes (and mine) you really have to look. If you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have known that it was wrong. Really you just "planned' it that way. Top and left side the cars outside the "road" and the left and bottom they are inside. Now how are you going to quilt it?
God bless,
Jane

It was made from the heart - no need to change anything. Time will tell or if it is correct as stands. And did you notice that the sides are all going up. Up is the right direction.

Well, Loralye, I love it as it is. I for one, always put something in my quilts that is not right. I believe in the Amish way of making a quilt. Nothing is perfect except God! I would leave it as it is. Having a mistake in a quilt is fun for people to find it. I also like the rik-rak stitching on the lower edge. It's just gorgeous. Love Chris

Thanks so much for having a closer look Chris, if I would have done it the other way all of the tracks (black rick rack) would meet up @ the corners. I will leave it for a day or two & see if I feel like making any changes. ~hugs~
