Carolyn, as always I love your snow pictures. It does 'look' pretty, but I couldn't stand the temperature that goes with it. I never tire of looking at photos this beautiful.
Sehr schöne Foto's,bei uns ist gar kein Schnee,in Süd Deutschland liegt Schnee
Lgr fom Germany
Your pictures look like mine did when I was in the snow as a teenager. I loved it even though I came from hot & humid Brisbane. I am sure it is brighter in real life. As my mother had only been to the snow in blizzard conditions. She dressed me for what she had experienced - result - I was the only warm person on that school trip for our one day at the snow. 2 pairs of woollen trousers; 2 spencers; long sleeved shirt; 2 jumpers and a parka. Plus gloves & mittens, a fur hat and gum boots with 2 pairs of socks.
Stayed on the toboggan field until I was tired and hungry, long after everyone else had retired to our bus and the air-conditioning on it.
Most of the others on the trip had been to the snow at Kosciusko previously and were only wearing jeans and a jumper, which apparently is all you need there when the sun is out.
Almost forgot the lovely woollen twin set top I was wearing too. I was lovely and comfortable in the cold with that lot on! And long red spencer pants too. :-)
Well you will be dressed great for her i ware lots when i walk Mr.Peeko 3 or 4xs a day, thanks for your lovely story hugs
Patricia109, how were you able to move with all those layers? -lol- You had a great mom, I hate being cold.
I was very skinny then :-) And they didn't feel heavy, just comfortable.
Now I wear 2 layers only, including the underwear! As I am still having hot flushes after 10 years.... Luckily, I live in Sydney and not in snow. Even when everyone else is wearing jumpers and coats, I am only in a long sleeve blouse and the cuff buttons are open! for air flow.
Brrrrr Carolyn I have on pjs and a gown & i am still cold and our temps are only in the 20's. I am no lover of cold weather./Lillian
Lillian, I found when I first experienced hot flushes that cinnamon if consumed daily raises your body temperature. So indulge in a Cinnamon Toast every day for the next 2 weeks and you will note a difference in how you feel about you 20 degrees.
Wellllllllll i never knew lol i am passed all the hot stuff now i am only cool lol hugs
Do you mean, you had been eating cinnamon and stopped when you started having hot flashes? I'm sure you didn't want to raise it even more. Although I would like to be warm, thank goodness like Carolyn my sudden burst of heat spells are rare.
Hi Carolyn, do you live in Canada how long is your winter, will send you some Sunny QLD SUN and Warm weather, I have seen snow in UK, in the 60's but not that deep, I suppose you get used to it , Love to be at your place for Christmas , how long is summer ?? your picks are Beautiful just like s post card just can see Santa slay coming up the road, Thank you for sharing L Sherene X
Our winter is long snow came 2xs in Oct.It stayed in November and will continue to snow up into March then it starts to warm up a little by end of May snow is gone but you will find some in the ditches that are deep until June.So summer is maybe June till End of Sept.Hugs
I love the snow and looking at it from inside my house but do not like to travel in it or get stuck and then set for hours waiting for help. I'm from Iowa and born in Wisconsin so yes I love the snow as I grew up in it. Your pictures are beautiful, thanks for sharing.
I'd love to see up close ... I have never seen snow. (Unless artificial, which I use in the decoration).
Here I am 'the 45-degree heat.
kisses friend!
oh boy and i have never been in that high of heat in my whole life Kisses to you my friend Dilceia:):)xxoo
Glad you can keep warm my friend, its time to just sit and sew and look out the window and eat nice warming meals done in the slow cooker so no messing about. Nice log fire and a good book or film is the only other altenative. Happy new year
I would love to see it. Cannot begin to understand as snow is something totally extraordinary to us - something we see for a day at a time every 30 years and not even cm deep. We currently also have summer and it is terribly hot and with the heat comes the thunderstorms at night. I guess the snow has many challenges.
yes for sure .If it hails snow then its heavy on the power lines and we lose hydro :(:(
Brrrrrrr, we have just got rid of our first fall here in the UK, and looking at your lot I am happy it was nothing in comparison, I was wondering how do people get about,do the roads get cleared? or do you have to have 4x4 and big trucks or sleighs and dogs. Or may be just stay in.
Hugs pam.
We have skidoos and 4 wheelers and some trucks that have 4wheel drive .Me i only got wee vw car lol
As crafter said Brrrrr makes me cold just looking at those grey skies that seem to be saying that more snow and cold are still coming your way! Glad that you are toasty warm inside and can be creating projects to your hearts content. I am in agreement with Chris give me 70-75 year round and I'm happy...not too hot and not too cold but just right as baby bear would say! Stay safe and warm this winter.
Pam
Thanks for the pics ! It is currently snowing here in south east B.C. , but at least the weather alerts have ended. We have had some severe cold here also. I must say though that I am a winter person and so long as we are safe, warm, dry, and the larder is full, I am quite content. I can not abide the heat and like Chris, in the summer 23 degrees C. would do just fine! Lots more time for hobbies when the snow flies!
Love & Hugs, Nadyne
Sweetie, keep the snow up your way. We have had rain for several days. I am so glad the temperatures were warmer or it would have been snow. Jan is usually our worst month. Kay
Hi Carolyn, I'm with Monika - I HATE THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY, I'd love it to be permanently 23C (about 73F). As Monika has stated it's very Hot here and I see that Sydney (2 hours away from us) has another HOT week coming. I can't believe you have that much snow it's just unbelievable for us Aussies to fathom that temperature too! Keep warm, whilst we try to keep cool! Love Chris
its only half of what we will get .Lots more to come and we run out of places to dump it,so they take it to the bush***hugs
I would love to see it for real. Its very HOT here in Australia ,I'm a real winter person , but we never have snow ,even though I'm in the mountains
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! I am shivering
Okay, I've seen all the snow I need to see this year. Right here in your pictures. Very pretty.
Amazing pictures. Thanks for posting. (Enjoying your snow as I sit here in 34C degree summer heat).
We have a bunch of snow here in Michigan - but, not quite that bad. It is cold here to and the wind is howling - Thank goodness it was an easy Christmas. Stay warm! Hugs, Laura*
Pretty, It was 75 here today in Virginia, by Wed in the 30's. Urgent care full by Friday from people sick.
Our snow lasts about a day then it's gone. That is fine with me.
You got more snow then we did, but this morning it was -17, with -33 wind chill. Never heard my steps outside crack like they did this morning!LOL. Sandy
I love the pictures but do not do well in snow - long story. I never could understand people who had a garage - not putting the car in. My DH made the mistake of leaving one car out. He left for work and left me to get the car out. Not a pretty picture. We are from California and the only shovel I had was a steel garden one. Ugh!
It does look beautiful through your living room window but I am thankful it is not outside mine :-) Today, it started off rainy and it is currently 60 degrees though it actually feels warmer. Nights temps around 40. And, though it is supposed to get down to 19 degrees at night on Wednesday that could be a heat wave compared to your -20 or lower! Wish I could bring you some firewood, I have tons of it all cut up and stacked. Better yet, come to Georgia it's only hours away from Florida :-) and you said you wanted to go there.
You have a bit more snow and you are a bit colder than I am. Glad you got all your winterizing done. Stay warm!
Beautiful pics! Long as I'm snug inside, I love snow! Glad you have backup power!
Looks too cold for me. I don't like it hot either. Just in-between suits me fine. Please keep warm and safe. Hugs
I must admit after my 3 winters in Northern North Dakota, I do NOT miss the snow and cold. I am very happy to be in Florida again. Please stay warm and be safe walking and shoveling,
We know snow too in our region, this time it is snowing but you have much more snow.
Thank you for the pictures.
Lovely pictures, Carolyn. I wish we had some snow, all we have is rain and last night, freezing rain. We haven't had any snow in weeks, not even at Christmas. Stay warm and don't go out and shovel,
Lovely, but sure isn't for me. It is trying to snow here in BC, but getting more rain then snow. Thank goodness. I will be praying for rain as I do not feel like walking in snow to work tomorrow. Only good thing is you will have more time for embroidery. Thank you for sharing and Happy Stitching.
I'm on my way, to your little part of the universe! Whats for super?
Chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans ,olives with garlic in the middle.homemade beets and i made a carrot cake with cream cheese icing ANd i always have extra room for friends :):)
May I join? I am bringing some good books I never have time to read at home, my knitting things and fun to speak to some nice ladies and to look into a fire from the fire place.
Also I would not refuse to drink a good cup of tea or coffee while watching the snow outside. Wishing you a Happy Winter time - Maria
Wow to me it looks beautiful. I am sitting here dripping with perspiration and wishing for some cool weather to get motivated.
I am guessing the novelty wears off when you have to go about everyday activities.
I think it gets expensive keeping cool but shudder to think of the cost to keep warm.
Stay safe.
It's a lovely scene, but tell me more, how do you live, are you snowed in, what do you do to keep warm. How long will your winter last ?????
We are not snowed in but all the roads have a few layers of snow on them but its cold so you don't slide all over with winter tires and studdes on the tires.
We burn wood we go to the bush and get it .It is free but takes a lot of work to get it from there to your stove. The wood stove heats my whole house. We have oil as a back-up .On Christmas well Dec.24th the hydro went out as/because of the heavy snowfall and it came on Dec.25th at 5 pm .Turkey still cooked as i have a generator thayt allows a few things to run at a time .
Lovely pictures but please keep this large amount of white stuff in your bit of the universe
