Not machine embroidery but something I have recently produced. Much earlier this year I was handed a piece of hand painted silk with will this make something like a counterpane? The fabric was a gift to a friend and the giver suggested it would make a lovely evening dress. (Jolly glad that she did not go down this choice). As the fabric was very limited in length you see the end result as a throw and two cushion covers. As the cushions are at a angle they appear to be of a different fabric. The warp thread was one colour and the weft another. Though it looks simple it was challenging due to the kingsized bed and lack of fabric. (I had about 4 cm left at the end). My friend has painted the pictures above the bed to match the fabric. As well as sending me the picture she has sent a copy to Thailand to the couple who gave the fabric. Right after reading this lot you deserve a flower. (There is a shirt in the middle of the bed that my friend made from the cotton fabric also given at the same time)

The fabric was quite stiff even where it was not painted. There is a heavier cotton lining on the back of the throw. &*4u

That looks fabulous - well done for rising to the challenge! I love the effect of shot fabrics - pity silk is so cruelly produced.

Beautiful! I would love to see a close up of the fabric. I have a couple pieces of fabric that does the 2 color thing. Fun and beautiful!
