This is going along with the apron and felt food products, I made earlier. The ant design is from Sew Forum. I must warn you, I have never seen so many jump stitches nor color changes! I do like the designs and there are 3 more to the set, called Picnic Ants, by shar824... I am amazed at how much I accomplished today. I made my morning route, came home and finished Avery's poncho, cooked a little lunch for my 10 yr old grandson that was here, cut out the quilted part of this bag and embroidered, made my evening route, cut my husbands hair, cut out the rest of this little tote and sewed it up and its not even 6:00 pm.-lol-I couldn't wait until it dried to show you, from washing the WSS out, so overlook the wet spots. I put her a snap because her little hands could probably handle this better than a zip.Just as a precaution, I made her strap handle short, so she can't put it around her neck...I am thinking of adding her a potholder or mug rug. I am having so much fun, can you tell? Merry Christmas Cuties- Toogie EDITED 9pm- You guessed it, we just came back from eating out-lol-I came back and reworked her boxed bottom. I made her corners deeper, so she would have a wider bottom, and the bag wouldn't look so square. It now looks tapered so I think it looks better. I put all her felt cookies in the bottom and her bacon and eggs on top,and she still has room. It is a very little bag for little hands, just something I made up, but I just measured the finished size. It sits on a 3 inch bottom and it measures 5in wide at bottom and 8in at top, even tho it was cut square. It stands about 71/2 or 8 in tall. Compare the photos #1 & #4 and see, because I made her bottom corners 3" it looks better tapered, don't you think?

Thank you, she still has room in her bag for more. I have more food ideas but may have to wait until after christmas for more.

The bags looks wonderful, especially with the larger bottom, that gives a lovely shape. Don't you hate it when designs have so many jumps? I often wonder at the logic behind it. But it looks good. I think ants will leave your food alone :)

At least this ant won't be a pest-lol- I am not a digitizer,as I have said many times before, but there should be a way to avoid these jumps when you do digitize. I do, so love ,the little ant though. Merry Christmas mops,Toogie

I agree, the tapered bag looks the best! I have the Picnic Ants too but haven't stitched them yet. Thanks for the "warning" about the jump stitches. Sometimes, my machine catches on them so I have to watch carefully. I love the felt bacon and, what I can see of, the egg. I may have missed a previous post of where the food item designs are from so will you please share. This little gift is simply adorable. I really enjoy seeing all of your posts.

Thanks Nancy,I appreciate your comment. I did have to take my hoop off the machine and trim some of the jumps before continuing. Look for a pm.

Your edit on the bag was just what it need to be perfect. Baby Nora is going to be so happy and have as much fun as grandma did in making this.

Thanks jrob, when I looked at #1 photo, I realized how flat it looked, even tho I boxed the bottom corners. I think the deeper boxed corners, #4, was just what it needed too...She is not bad to put things in her mouth but she does love to eat. If she tries this felt, she won't twice. I was asking her mom Nora's favorite color, animal and food, for the little Leap Frog dog I got her for Christmas. I had to program it. Mom said favorites are pink color, animal horse and food EVERYTHING.-lol-(child like her gram)

You have all areas of her cooking cover, she will be such an industrious little one. I hope you know you will have to help her eat all her goodies. These are really perfect for a little chef.

I keep thinking what else I could add to it. I wanted to make her some pop tarts, and still may, by just using my rectangle frame design on my machine,a potholder, etc.-lol

Yes, Chris I do like and appreciate those days. I think sometimes when I know how much I have to do I work better or faster. But I once in a while, I have those other days, when the pressure makes me nervous and I can't do anything. Thank goodness they are few and far between. Do you see I edited? Looks better now, doesn't it?

I think her mom will be excited as I am. I use to make her mom, Barbie doll clothes, all the time. She had a large suitcase full. All her little friends use to like to come over and play because she had so many changes for them... We still have them.

That is so cute. The design is perfect for your project.
You have done well with your time. I agree some designs get a bit frustrating with jump stitches especially small lines of them. But as they are given free by people who can do what I can't I am happy to sit and pick them out.

I am too. I can't draw a straight line and sure can't digitize. I am in awe of those that can. This little design changed colors 24 times and I have a single needle machine! It was very time consuming, and I was afraid it wouldn't finish, before I had to go back to work. I did say I still liked the design and I will repeat, I do like this one and there are 3 more in the set. Jumped stitching or not, I will stitch it again.
