Welcome aboard dear lady. We've all been burned I'm sure at one time or another when we thought we had a great deal. Read what Mops/Martine has to say. she is telling you like it is. In the meantime others have told you where to go on site for various so I'll just say You are very welcome here, Cuties are the best on this planet and they are from far and wide. We'll help any way we can/Lillian
Hi Chicago Mom! Welcome to Cuties! I think we all have been burned one time or another. You'll find lots of help here and friends who are super supportive! Jan, in colorado
Welcome to Cute. Sorry that your grandson was disappointed. I am sure this will not happen to you again in the future.
I hope you like it here and as it was said before, you can always ask questions here.
welcome to Cute.
we all have and had to learn lessons. And you can always ask a question here. Some Cutie will know an answer....
You now have learned the first rule of embroidery....all designs are not digitized equally. I'm sorry you had this experience, but it's something most of us learned the hard way, too.
I want to welcome you and let you know that Cuties (that's what we call ourselves and now you) are a very helpful friendly group. We are from all over the world so someone is almost always here 24/7.
Do read the posts under Q&A to get lots of answers as to how the site works.
I'm glad you are here.
Hi Chicago, welcome to the best embroidery site on the net. I'm glad to see Martine (mops)has replied - she is a wonderful digitiser herself and has a wealth of knowledge. She is also a Moderator here on this site.
Have a look at Q&A at the top of the page and look at all the questions there about how this site is run. There is a wealth of information in there.
If and when you do some sewing please post it in PROJECTS. Again to find out to do anything on here check Q&A. I'm so sorry your design didn't turn out well - as you say - A lesson learned!
Love and blessings Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
I had a look at the site you mentioned. Alll the designs listed under Characters are copyrighted designs and nowhere it is mentioned that they have a license to use the artwork - they most probably are all illegal. Given the standard price for all designs on the site I think it is clear they never purchased licenses for any of them.
Under "Other" I checked the caniche toy poodles - the artwork is by Clipartopolis ( I know because I digitised those a couple of years ago too) - and Clipartopolis gives a free license provided you put up a link to their site. But Embroiderydesignsbygina does not even state where the clipart is from.
I'd stay away from that site even if the quality were good.
Welcome to you, sorry to hear your design did not go well, but don't be disheartened. You will certainly get lots of help here from cuties, as i have previously had. Now am addicted and check this site every day for information which is freely given. Remember help is always nearby.
Welcome! Please don't let this tarnish your adventures with embroidery. This site is fantastic and provides so much help and information you just might become addicted in a nice way to the site and embroidery. Sorry for you bad experience. :-)
Welcome...sorry your design didn't work out, but ,as said below it was probably an illegal digitized design...and many of them are done very poorly...not to mention violate copyright laws...better to just pass and as you say...lesson learned.
Welcome to Cute. I'm sorry that the design didn't work, but if the design was copywrited, you may have gotten an illegal design.
Thanks for the heads up and welcome to Cute! It's a great site. Look around, even across the bottom of the page (more of Miss V.'s sites). There's a lot here, and some great advice. Your first flower - for fun.
Sorry you had this experience. One thing I have learned is to always so a test stitch out on fabric similar to what you are going to stitch the design on. That way if it does not stitch well you have not ruined the item you purchased to put the design on. Also ask question on what stabilizer to use for that fabric and proper way to hoop that fabric. Sometimes the design is fine but the stabilizer and hooping could be the problem. Most designs are tested and sold for woven fabric. So extra safe is needed to stitch on a knit fabric. Usually you could ask the digitizer if she could make one for knit fabric. But always ask questions and pre test the stitch out. You will be happy you did.
