We are going through a serious emergency with my youngest grandson, please pray. His name is Cameron.Waiting on test results.UpDate below-sorry I am on phone and posted in wrong place.UPDATE 08-08-14 FRIDAY- Culture was not growing, so not bacterial meningitis, so that is good because that is the worse one. It is viral but they don't know which one. They tested for the most common viral one and it wasn't that one. The dr said this morning they would take him off the IV fluids and see how he did, if he didn't throw up or have fever guess he would have been released. Well, while the dr was still in the room, he started throwing up again. He was sick one other time, so they kept him another day. Good. He says he gets sick when his head hurts so much. He is only 7, did I say that already, IDK.-We will see if there is an improvement tomorrow. Hope so.Thanks for continued thoughts and prayers. Posting a photo in hospital, the one with Nora was just about 2 weeks ago. SUNDAY THE 10TH- Cam is home! He came home late yesterday. He still has headaches, that may last up to two weeks total, and when they get bad, thats when he gets sick. They did send him home with med for nausea and for headaches, he takes motrin alternating with tylenol. Other than that he just needs to stay hydrated, drinking plenty fluids. He was so happy to get home and play with his things, they had a hard time getting him to bed last night.-lol- that is a good sign.Thank you ALL for your thoughts and prayers. Unless there is a set back, I won't have to update,he should get well.He seems very normal, answering questions appropriately. We are very grateful for answered prayer.-Toogie

So thankful for modern day medical techniques and were able to detect the problem. Praise the Lord for answered prayers that now things will be better and home is where he can be

He has had a headache since yesterday, so mom called hospital. They said give him 1/2 teaspoon more than she was giving. Haven't heard from them since she did this. Don't want to call in case they are sleeping.

I am happy Cameron is home too !!! :D He is a BEAUTIFUL looking boy . :D :D Poor kid to have to go through headaches and them lasting that long ! :( HOPEFULLY we won't hear from you with threads to this post. So that that means he is just improving ALL TIME !!! Nora is cute too!!! You are all still in my thoughts!!!!

The headaches are caused by the viral meniginitis. It is a virus in the spinal fluid, surrounding the brain, and in the spine.

Thank goodness they have determined what it is and now to make sure he gets good nutrition, plenty of fluids and rest so that his little body can fight this.

OH thanks goodness he is home again. Hopefully being there may help in his healing. One day at a time for now though...continuing prayers

It IS viral meningitis, not the most common form of viral, but one of the other viral ones. It is still a serious situation, but thank God, not the bacterial one.

I'll be praying, such a handsome young man!

Just reading your updates. I hope he is feeling a bit better by now. It was good that the Dr was on hand when he was sick again to know for himself what is going on. Sending up prayers for a solution to be found.

Oh no, I hope he gets better very soon. He looks like a sweet boy, he should not be in a hospital bed. God be with all of you and give all the doctors the skills to make him better.

Cam was throwing up and had a bad headache yesterday. About 1am mom checked on him. He had eyes wide open and had stopped breathing.Parents got him breathing again and threw up,took to the local hospital Er, was having seizures . Stopped breathing in ER,seizuring again. Was transported to state capital hospital (for neurogolist ,where a spinal tap showed meniginius, waiting to see if viral or bacterial. Seizures have stopped and the fever. He is awake feeling better,playing hospital video games . Thank you for support an prayers. With meds he should recover and be alright. We were worried as we didn't know how long at home, he wasn't breathing. Showing no signs of brain damage.scan normal.will update if need to

Oh my goodness!!! I will keep him in my prayers too. I hope and pray he's okay and no damage. How scarey!!!! My oldest was put in the hospital when he was 2 for probable meningitis. They gave him shots every day in his little legs and kept him in the hospital a few days. He had fever and his soft spot on his head was swollen. Other than that no other symptoms, he got over it, but we were sure scared for him. He's 39 now, technology has improved much since then. I will be thinking about you all and hoping for the best Toogie. Hugs, sharon
