Leenova-Deb up-date. I just spoke with our Deb. She is having a hospice nurse come in once a week, right now. The nurse, pre-measures her med dosages for her,as it is hard for Deb to see how to. Deb has an appointment on the 11th for her eyes. She is still able to read cards and letters, if it is written larger than normal, and she puts it really close....For some 'miraculous' reason (thank You, our dear Lord for this), her pains in her legs have gone. She is in pain with her right arm today. She said it feels more like the muscle, than the bone.(She took some morphine while we were on the telephone.) I always tell her we can talk, as long or as little, as she wants to or not at all. I tell her she decides and it won't hurt my feelings, because I told her she's the one in pain and you know me, I could talk all day-lol- Her son always comes on Tuesday and he puts her garbage out at the curb for pick-up. Her neighbor brings it back for her, so thats a help. I forgot to ask if her brother made his weekly visit... She said she has recieved cards or letters, emails, from Cuties, that she wants everyone to know she would love to respond to each one, but truly is not able. I told her they were sent our of love and no one expects a response, we know she enjoys recieving them....... I went to the nursing home yesterday to visit my sister. I met her new room mate and really enjoyed visiting with them. Her name is Bonnie. She is 58 years old and has been bedridden for the last 7 years. She has a rare form of muscle disease, not MD or MS. She is a christian, but not always has been. She told me her story. She was 22 when diagnosed and Drs said she wouldn't live past her 30th b-day. (Drs must not know our God !) Husband left, only child a son died at the age of 18. She said she knows if she hadn't got this disease, she would have never found God. The life they led before didn't include HIM. She also knows after accepting Christ as her savior, she was and is, able to handle all the trials. What a witness and inspiration to others!.... I noticed a beautiful saying on the wall by her bed and thought it needs to be digitised. It would be lovely with a cross beside the saying or a large cross with the words over riding the cross. I can probally do the words with some letters I have in some fonts I saved, but I want it for a 5x7 hoop and I don't digitize, but I should have some crosses in some of my files. I have to keep Avery the next 2 days, emb some for the churches, so I don't know when I will have the time to do it. When I do, I will post it in Projects but I wouldn't be able to share the design, as the digitizing wouldn't really be mine. I just would be putting it all together. One day I would like to digitize, so I could give back something to all of you. It just doesn't seem to fit into His plans for me right now...Take care Cuties-Love-Toogie

Toogie, (I love your name, is it a nick name?) You are an angel. Thanks so much for the update on Deb. She is an angel too, just one who needs help now rather than giving it to others. I remember when Deb was reaching out and doing for others. She asked me to help another Cutie in need, because I lived close and was able to make her wishes happen.

You are a caring person. Thanks so much for being such a good example to the rest of us.
Hugs
Terri

My name was given to me by my Dad's oldest sister. My Dad's family are the only ones that call me this. It is a nick name and I am glad you like it.... You are so sweet with your comments. I do care, sometimes it has made me sick, really physically sick, when I help others but I can't help it. I guess it is in my nature and I can't change, but there are others here that probally do the same. Take care-"Toogie"

Thank you so much for sharing this update. I pray for Deb daily and I'm glad she has a nurse at least once a week. I'm so thankful to hear at least some of her pain has subsided.
Isn't it wonderful the people God sends to come beside us to encourage us? You for Deb and your sister's roommate for her. Blessings for you Toogie.

Thank you Toogie for the update. Is she alone during the time her son isn't there? How does she take care for herself she doesn't need to be left alone I know when my Daughter got to this point the only thing she could do for herself was go to the bathroom and clean her bottom and brush her teeth, she needed someone with her almost all the time she fell a couple of times. Is there a nurse there if something happens? Hugs Virdean

Yes, Deb is alone most of the time. I think her parents go the days her son and brother don't go. Her parents are there a lot, but don't stay with her. Deb still walks with a walker and she has fallen before. I'm not sure if it was due to the meds or her vision. She may have a life alert button, I will try to remember to ask... So sorry about your daughter.-Toogie

Dear Toogie, may God bless you as you go about all you do for everyone. It was so nice to hear all about Deb - I'm so glad she has someone like you to talk to. I miss her on here and am thankful for this site as we can keep each other held up in prayer. I pray that you get that lovely design done too, in your time. Please send my love next time you speak with Deb - for that matter all of the Aussie Cuties send their love. Love Chris

It's funny now, but when I first started talking to Deb, I wasn't sure what to say. Now we talk like we are old friends, comfortable, at ease. I always ask if it okay to relate our conversing to Cute and she is fine with it. She wants everyone to know how she is, what's happening in her life.

Thank you so much for the update. She is so often in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad she has her family nearby and a Hospice nurse. Enjoy your visits and conversations with your sister and her room mate and be sure to post the saying when you get it stitched out. How are you doing with the dizzies?

They are not that often, but I am still plagued with severe headaches, at times. I wish I could retire and I can, but I just wouldn't get full retirement pay. I have about 25 yrs in but if I can go to 30, I can retire drawing the same as I am getting paid now working. I just don't know if my health will hold out that much longer.

Thank you for keeping in touch with her. With my health and my children out of school for the summer I just don't have a lot of time to chat -- so I am very glad you are there for her.
I am very thankful for you!
Send my love to Deb and let her know I am still praying for her.

Not yet. There is still a lot of summer activities that we need to do -- so I am glad I have a little time left to make memories with my children.

No Sarah I am nothing special, Deb is a gem. She confess to me today, she does have a 'mean' side, but I have not seen it. She is a witness to all of us, not to give up hope, in dire situations.

I had a visitor today and I must admit, she won!-lol- It was a lady from church that called, wanting to 'drop off' a prayer quilt for me to emb. Her drop off lasted an hour and a half, but it was her and my husband ! I was kinda quiet because I needed her to not stay long,as I had some errands to run, while I didn't have Avery today, and before family come in this evening.I think 3 of hubbys brothers and 1 sister and spouses are coming to make home made ice cream. 2 are bringing their freezers and we have ours. Maybe I can get some photos,... if I don't forget.-lol- wish you lived close too. Maybe we could pool all our monies together, buy a town, and all Cuties move to that location! lol
