Cost of designs. I have just been having a wander round the www and found a single design for $70. It was beautiful and measured 200mmx200mm. It has made me think just how much would I spend on one design. Possibly $10. I know I have many Urban designs and for $70 I could buy a load more. So fellow Cuties what is the top price you would spend on one design or have spent on one? Thanks and flowers for replying

I've been know to pay as much as $15 for a special single design once or twice, but I usually won't buy a single design if it is over $7. I have noticed that I've been seeing singles at much higher prices in the past couple of years, so maybe it's just due to general inflation.

I might have spent $10 for one design....BUT....I started to add up what I've spent as a total at EmbLibrary....and good grief!!....I had to quit adding. I didn't really want to see the final figure!! And then there are the other sites and designs I've sent away for etc. The addiction is almost worse than chocolate! I've probably never even used 10% of the designs I've bought. Are you other stitchers like that??

wow that is out of my league I have paid that for Anita Goodesign sets but not for a single & not ever likely too either. When I first starting to embroider more then 10 years ago the cartridges that went into my machine were between $125- $159 (probably more too but what I saw were these) & I have to say that I did buy them then because that's all there was at the time. I am more then thankful that the internet has wonderful sites like Cute where we can buy memberships & get all the designs we love! Great topic Caroline, ~hugs~

The most I've spent on one design was $10 for an ITH from http://touchdezines.com/shop/ but then she does have some very unique ITH projects.

Oh my that's way to expensive for me lol,
I think the dearest single design I have purchased is a doily 200x200 by
Sue Box even then I'm sure I had a $5 gift voucher to help towards the cost but I must say She is a brilliant designer, the most expensive sets I have purchased is probably from the needle of Anne, I wait for the sales her designs are fabulous but I have to be choosy and limit by budget, I have had a hardanger set on secrets in my wish list for over a year waiting for a big sale lol

I'm always look in my wishlist when the treasure hunt is in march. Sometimes I'm the lucky one and some of my favs are there for just 1.-$. I can wait cause most of the designs I do not really need - it's pure greed and additcion ;o)

For a single design I spend not more then $10, for a set I give not more then $30, otherwise I had to wait for sale and put it to my wishlist from the site.

I usually only spend $8--$10 on a single design but I do have some Santa designs at $40 ea on my Secrets wishlist I will get them all one day, they were showcased here in projects a while ago and I couldn't resist them..

In the past I bought $40 designs from Ace Points Quilting (10 designs in a set), but ONLY when they had a 70% sale on. So the price of the set was at most $28 for 10 designs. I love their sets!

I will not pay more than S2 per design. And these days I just create what I want...

The variation in prices fascinates me. I'd really like to see the sales figures for some sites! I don't think I've paid more than $10 for one design, but I'd hate to have to add up my cumulative total at UT!

Right I have done further research and found ONE design for $300.

bevintex by bevintex 13 May 2014

Well.did you leave one for me?

asterixsew by asterixsew 13 May 2014

Not sure

Leaha by Leaha 13 May 2014

I don't think I can afford to go shopping with you anymore. You've just blown my beer pocket book to smithereens! :)
These designs must be for those who have champagne pocket books.

bevintex by bevintex 13 May 2014

I would rather spend my money on thread, fabric and scissors. Then I'll buy some designs I can afford.

cfidl by cfidl 14 May 2014

Those who have champagne pocketbooks, usually do not embroider.

I pretty much buy sets and get them around $35 to $65. I think the person asking $70 may be a bit out of touch with the market, although I'm sure it was lovely and complex and well digitized.

I probably paid the most at Kreations by Kara, I love Emblibrary. I only buy when there are sales.
I have full wish lists all over the place. I am very choosey now where I pick up my freebies.
Interesting topic, thank you.

I paid $10.00 for a tatted design I had wanted a long time.that was the sale price regular $12.00. I hate to pay that much for 1 design. Others if I can't live without I pay around 6 or 7. I just love this birdhouse but there are 3 of them and at $39.99 each there is NO way I will buy even 1. But they are cute. There are several sites I would love to purchase from but the prices just won't allow me to do it,and it seems they never have a sale so I spend my money where I can get the most bang for my buck. I love emblibrary and the sites that have the dollar sales.

If I do pay around $10.00 it is something I will make over and over.

Me too

mommajo by mommajo 14 May 2014

I know those bird houses. I am hoping for a really good sale.
They are beautiful

I love their christmas village but too pricy and no customer will pay you for all the thread and work...

WOW! I'd be out of business before I started. Did the size make it so expensive? Or was it something extra special one just couldn't live without? I can't imagine for one design. I never thought about it before. :) Leaha

Got to thinking, for me that would be a life time career as it's so large, that's about 80x80 inches. Can you imagine the amount of threads, time and the number of thread changes...oh my, I think I'll stick to my simple little projects. :)

7.8X7.8 inches. Still too big for me.

Leaha by Leaha 13 May 2014

You are correct my fingers got all tangled up and I'm not real good with metrics. Thanks for the help, I appreciate that. :) Leaha

asterixsew by asterixsew 13 May 2014

For metric 10cm is about 4". Just imagine a embroidery machine that had a 80x80 emb frame. Now where would one put that?

Leaha by Leaha 13 May 2014

In a very BIG ROOM; in a very BIG HOUSE....LOL

bevintex by bevintex 13 May 2014

you will need help hooping it.

Leaha by Leaha 13 May 2014

Not if you were an octopus! I sometimes need extra hands for my little hoop. :P
