Sometime back I mentioned my grandson was getting into machine embroidery at school. I was asked to post a pic of his work. Well, before we could do anything someone stole his jacket ... the one with his 'weird' nickname on it. He has since embroidered another item...a sweatshirt. Not too bad for a 16 yo.

Remind him that whoever took his jacket really liked it and thought it was cool. Probably means he could sell his work!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I will forward all the kind words on to him. I am sure one of the girls in their rather large group must have absconded off with his jacket. I have never seen a person with so many friends as he has. Seven yrs ago the family moved to Montana very broke. The kids got into roller skating and really loved it, their budget wasn't such that they could afford to do much. My SIL is on permanent disability but needed something to do...so he volunteered at the rink.My daughter and SIL would go and supervise the kids on certain days and work with the skates and work the snack bar. They learned it was something they had a passion for. All the kids got to the point where they all called my daughter MOM. For reasons I won't mention they pulled away and want a rink of their own. They were planning it when my daughter was in the car accident that injured her shoulder. But, if my gs loves doing embroidery and they can manage to get the rink I can see where the two can work together.

It amazes me the sharing with teens and their clothes, and if not shared then "borrowed", and think nothing of it. I don't remember it being so prevalent in my school days, of the 50-60's. The sweat shirt looks great! Anything to get those guys sewing. I'm going to work on my granddaughters and have them do some things this summer.

PS Sorry his jacket was stolen. I'll bet it won't be long until someone sees it and can easily identify it by the nickname.

Not a very common name. I will let him know of all the compliments.
