This was taken about 2 weeks ago just before sunset out of my sewing room window. The galahs are eating the so called flowers of the NSW Christmas bush (the pink bits are the dead parts of the small white flower). The galah top right hand corner is a chick ,it still has a grey chest.Baby galahs are nearly the same size as their parents but still have grey feathers on their chests when they leave the nest.

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful picture! It enlarges beautifully, so I really got a good close look at these beautiful birds and the flowers as well. It's such a joy to see these parts of nature that I'll never see for myself. I know I can see them on our Public Broadcasting nature programs sometimes, but to see this out of a Cutie's window, that's more special, makes it more real somehow. Thanks again! Hugs, Marji

Dear Killiecrankie, what a beautiful picture of these Galahs. When I was a teenager living in Adelaide, South Australia, we had a pet Galah called Charlie and he could talk the leg of an armchair! Thanks for sharing this great piccie. Love Chris

Robyn has one which they raised from a young bird called Rex .He flew into a window & knocked himself silly & has never flown again ,just walks around the yard following whoever is outside. He is now classed as a family heirloom with his future decided if he out lives his current owners.

Beautiful scene to look out at, it's a shame they are harsh pruners when they want to.

I just wish they would prune the deadwood out.

It was a lot better but the lack of water & extreme heat last summer burnt a lot of our plants & some have died.
