GOOD MORNING/EVENING CUTIES!

Thought all of our European and American friends might like to get an idea of how big Australia really is!

Love to you all on this gorgeous November 3rd Sunday morning where it is going to be 33C today! Talk about hot - when you guys overseas are experiencing the cold! Love Chris

Had meant to add yesterday in my post that we are currently watching Master Chef Australia here in South Africa and, in addition to the good food and well-resented TV programmes, it is a pleasure to view the beauty of Australia! Last week we were treated to Tasmania!

It's a great show and Tasmania is a beautiful state - been there a few times. Love Chris

Thank you all for the interesting geography lesson - it was most enlightening seeing your facts and figures on Australia, Europe, USA, and others, relative to one another. Greetings to you from sunny South Africa!

This picture is for Martine, yes, the country of Australia would fit 4 and a half times across Russia and some of the other European countries. Love Chris

This rectangular projection is very misleading, on a globe Russia (both the European and the Asian part) does not look as impressive as all those vertical lines come together at the north pole! although it remains a vast country. Friends of mine travelled by train from Moskou to the Pacific coast, took a fortnight.

You forgot to add the smoke which started to seep into the house about 4am & the hot wind that has made the day even worse.I had a market stall at the local market this morning selling some of husbands orchids which are in flower & the pop-up gazebo that has 2.5 kilo weights attached to each corner leg started to get airborne .

Sorry about that - we've had some smoke for a few days, but not as bad as Sydney! The winds have been amazing, haven't they? Love Chris

That map shows only PART of Europe. Norway, Sweden, the Baltic states, Russia and its former vazal states are all missing and the total of Europe is about a fifth larger than Australia.

The Netherlands is that small blue part to the west of Germany and above red Belgium - it has 17 million inhabitants.

Anytime I purchase lamb at the grocery store, I always look for lamb from Australia. I hear your country is very beautiful. So are the U.S.A.
Don't get to meet people from your country. Have a great day.

My all time favourite meal is Aussie lamb. Yes, there are some gorgeous places here, but that is true of any country. I personally want to see Canada and the Rocky Mountains, New York, San Francisco, Maine and quite a few other states of USA. One day!

Most of us Aussies are a fairly laid back lot. We were all immigrants at one stage, so we don't take things too seriously. Great bunch of people though.

Yes, we are only 7,692,024sq kilometres! Australia is the world's sixth largest country, after Russia, Canada, China, USA, and Brazil.

Love you too! Love Chris

Yes, but it was only on a friend's FB page as it is. I'm assuming that most people know that the majority of people who live here are coastal dwellers. Love Chris

Great map Chris. I wish it was going to be a little warmer down here on that little Island at the bottom of the map today. Going out. Had hoped to wear a summer skirt, but I think ir will be some warmer clothes. The wind is quite strong here today. Love Shirley

Well, if you do, you will have to come and have a stay with us. We are about 2 hours north of Sydney (on the east coast) beautiful place to visit - but not in February - it's too hot! Love Chris

shirley124 by shirley124 02 Nov 2013

Also make sure you add a visit to the little Island at the bottom of the map. That is the State of Tasmania. Shirley

If you are comming to Australia compare round the world fare prices with return flights also from the US compare flight & waiting around airports time with flying from DFW (Dallas Fortworth Texas) to either Brisbane or Sydney Aust. I find it easy to have a couple of stops, e.g. from Perth WA to Sydney NSW Aust to Dallas USA Texas to Jacksonville USA Florida to London England (via Miami FL USA with only a change over) to Perth WA (via Singapore with only a change over)
