April 2013, Hi Cuties, older cuties will remember that I made many rose squares to be used in a quilt for myself. I would open patterns and 'clean them up' before I began sewing them, in one pattern I saw

several hands and elbows holding the center bud!! I decided to make this rose and use it as a conversation piece lol

I finished the quilt about a year ago but was hesitant to show it off, the colors are not that great.

I do not use stippling to quilt, I like the light and airy feeling of simple stitching so I just stitch close to the quilts seams, in this case around the outer purple diamond then around the inner purple diamond, also
around the top and bottom purple lines. And for me sleeping in the air conditioning this is enough of a cover/ blanket to hibernate for the night he he

Picture 1: one original rose pattern and how I edited it to fit the 4x4 hoop, plus the actual stitch out.

Picture 2: all the rose squares.

Picture 3: I love how the purple shows off the roses.

Picture 4: The finished quilt, the color combination is a bit strange but I like it LOL

Picture 5: My quilt, head on.

Picture 6: Yes I remembered to make a quilt tag.

Would any of you have used these colors LOL

Beautiful!! Really beautiful!!
I also love your choice of the border and background fabrics.
Picture No. 3 is one of my favourite styles of embroidery - to me it's a very elegant design. I love the way you've spaced the roses so that each one can be admired.
I also use minimum quilting, mostly 'in the ditch' or shadow quilting 1/4" from a border or design. I love the feel of a floppy, soft quilt that snuggles close.
It must be a wonderful feeling to walk into a room and see a quilt like this on the bed.

Love it! the purple makes the rose blocks pop.. don't be unhappy about the colour, it looks great... we are never 100% happy with most of our work, thats why we get another opinion... just ask the ladies below.. huggs Marian

Your quilt is stunning! I also quilt the way you do by stitching along the square seams. It makes a light fluffy quilt that is nice curl up under. You do beautiful work. Hugs, Barba

Wow! Your quilt makes an impact. Roses come in so many colors that I don't think you can choose a wrong color. I like it but then I refuse to quilt. I admire the quilting of others.
