Pictures I want to share of some of my time savings tips for my sewing room.

#1. on each of my machines, I have a small pair of embroidery scissors hooked onto my bobbin holder. I also velcro a seam ripper on the side on my machine and because of my arm extension problem, I placed clothespins (pegs for some) on the top so that I can bring more than 1 thread at a time from my super rack that DH made me, ready to thread my needle.
#2. This size adjustable, compartment tray is next to my machine to hold all necessary tools. I can divide this into 9 different sizes.
#3. Needle tray (blue), I purchased 2, one on my cutting table one next to sewing machine an transfer them as they empty. The clear plastic holder has all my different size needles, stored from smallest to largest and each compartment screws one on top of the other. The Squeezers embroidery nips are super for cutting close to your fabric.
#4.These little tweezers have a light on them and are great. Love these
#5. Bias tape making machine, saves hours (and burnt fingers) of work.
#6. I hate ironing and even more taking out the ironing board. Picked up this mini one $2.00 at the dollar store and it is quite effective.
So those are my time savings tips, I am sure that our experienced cuties have their own but I thought this might come in handy for our newer cuties,
Big hugs

Thanks for sharing! Now if I could just get so organized! Space is a problem for me; esp. for a place to iron & I press OFTEN when sewing.

Great tips Michelle. My cat would love to get to those rubber bands. I have to keep them under lock and key at my house or he eats them.

You are so organized.

Love your tips Michelle, we could be twins in our thinking. I, too, like to have a divided drawer with all my necessities beside each machine and I also bought a small ironing board, like yours, but have yet to work out a system for easy storage in between uses, otherwise it sits on my cutting table taking up valuable space. LOL!!
My sewing room, in our new home, is slowly taking shape but will be much better when it has internal walls, windows and built in storage. It's all on hubby's list but he keeps telling me he isn't Mandrake. hahahahaha!!!
Hugs n roses, Meganne

Thanks Meganne,
I think we spend so much time in our sewing rooms and we are often limited for space, that every little trick can be useful. In passing, I store my mini board on a rack behind the door. It is really light so it stays in place.
hugs to you

I like my sewing room, good thing because I spend so much time in it. Seam ripper is now always in the same place.
