German words for kitchen/ tea towels

Here are some popular saying for aprons or towels:
"Hier kocht der Chef" = Here cooks the chief :o)
"Viele Köche verderben den Brei" = too many cooks spoil the broth
"Liebe geht durch den Magen" = the way to a man's heart is through his stomach
"Das Auge isst mit" = The eye must be pleased
"Essen ist ein Bedürfnis, Geniessen ist eine Kunst" = Eating is a necessity - to savor it is an art

Sadly , though I am of German descent, my language skills have greatly depleted, I can read, and understand (IF people speak a little slower, LOL), but writing /grammar elude me.

Welcome to Cute. I have a German DIL and love to make things for her, that are related to her home country. Follow EvaJungermann advice, and get to the site with the RW designs. Click on the German translation and it is the second choice down. Any choice with 'stickdatei' has an embroidery design to download.

this link is form a german site. They offer downloadable redwork designs with some suggestions for kitchen towels.

"Guten Appetit" means "enjoy your meal", it is common to say this before starting to eat.
"Eigener Herd ist Goldes wert" is a Quote from Friedrich Schiller- means a kitchen/oven of ones own is as valuable as gold.
A poem I like is
"Fünf waren geladen, zehn sind gekommen-
gieß' Wasser zur Suppe, heiß' alle willkommen!"
You invited five friends for a meal but surprisingly ten persons came, so put more water into the soup and welcome all your guests.

Welcome to posting! You will see that you will have a lot of fun. Good question. I don't know any German. Maybe some cuties know. I have some designs I bought from emb library with herbs and then some with color lines so its not so dense. They turn out nice and make great gifts. I have done many sets but alas none for myself.
