Just wondering --

If you all could give me some input on what program(s) you use(d) that are easiest for digitizing? I have a few of the free programs, including Embird free trial, which I kinda like, just not sure if I want to spend $300 or more on it

Thank you

When I bought my 15 needle commercial machine, I also had to buy Embroidery Office (8) at the time. Very Expensive and I couldn't even digitize with it. That was a few more thousand dollars. They offer very little help with the software. I found this site "cute" and everyone talked about Embird. I love the program, I'm learning, but I can digitize good enough with it for myself. All the girls on this site have been wonderful to help evryone of us out when we have problems. I don't think you're going to find a cheaper program that can do what Embird does.

To everyone who has helped me with Embird when I have a question.. BIG ((Hugs)) for you all!

Be super careful when you download the demo programs. I found out the hard way with one. It locked up my computer, and I had to use my system restore tool, so lost a lot in the process.

I think your best bet is Embird. Lots of this software costs $2000. Seems like it's easy to use and there are lots of tutorials available. It's what lots of Cuties use.

I totally agree with Meganne.
I only bought a couple of embroidery software programmes over the years; Embird a couple of years ago and the Husqvarna/Pfaff software which set me back well over €4000 (including the upgrades since 1999).
And there was the Brother simple scanner/autodigitising hardware with built-in software that cost over a lot at the time it was released (1993 - over €800) plus PED-basic, that was not cheap either.

Give me Embird any time! And at $300 it's a bargain!

Welcome!
I bought Embird a month ago and I'm having so much fun with it! As it was rather expensive, I've had to spend a lot of time using it to convince my other half it was a good buy. This has been a great way to learn so I'm very pleased I took the plunge.

OH SUE, Embird is not expensive. I've paid $4,500 for one program over $1,500 for another $2,850 for another $3,000
And THEN I found Embird!

spendlove by spendlove 01 Feb 2012

There is no way I would have considered spending that sort of money on something I didn't know I could fly! Embird was a big enough risk for me.

I do use the most expensive one and the least expensive one, Embird, but the biggest waste of money was Creative Drawings and I haven't touched that in two years I think. I don't have a problem learning any program, but learning to digitise as well as learning a program was quite a challenge.

learning a new program was quite a challenge. LOL!!!

Obviously you haven't spent $4,000+ on programs that aren't supported, cost a fortune to upgrade and are so user "unfriendly" that you give up in despair.

Without doubt, Embird is the best value for money, user friendly, best supported and least expensive to upgrade, Embroidery program on the market.

$300 is a mere pittance, compared to what serious digitisers pay for their software, only to find out that they could do it ALL with Embird.

Just ask me, I'll tell you, $11,500 later!
LOL!!!
Hugs n roses, Meganne

I don't suppose you have any experience of Janome digitising programmes do you, Meganne? I tried the Embird free trial ages ago and couldn't get to grips but might try again as you think it's good value. Jan

That is a BIG chunk of change!! I tried the Embird demo and was completely in the dark. I need to try again when life settles down. Maybe.

I have embird since 3 years and have no clue how to go through studio (the digitizing tool). I'm lucky that I can use editor roughly after a nice lady from a german sewer community offered a day introducing to the basic tool :o(
Greetings, Bettina

I'm sorry to hear that as it's really easy to use. A pity we don't live closer together!
