Can anyone change an applique design to a regular stitchout for me - is this possible? Betty

Betty please ignore the comments from my, ill informed, friends below. I know you know the rules and asked your friend for permission to do this, so WE know the facts, they don't, therefore we should forgive them their ignorance in this matter, this time. hugs n roses, Meganne

Bettytaylor ... do you have the right to change the design ? does it say anywhere in the files DL'd with the design that you can alter it in any way .. other than format, colors, size... ? Just wondering, since most of the stuff I DL usually says something like this ...

I repeat! A friend of Betty's digitised it for her and she got her permission to do this, otherwise I would not have volunteered to do it for her.

meganne by meganne 11 Dec 2011

Gee some of you can't help jumping on people without knowing any of the facts!
Ease up will you! Do you think I would do this without proper consents being in place!!!!

obaachan by obaachan 11 Dec 2011

WELL, PARDON ME ALL TO HELL...I was NOT jumping... maybe some posts were going up at the same times.... I DID NOT SEE THE POST ABOUT IT BEING A FRIENDS OF BETTYS... DON'T ATTACK ME ...

May be you should look at the time stamps before you start calling some ill informed ....

meganne by meganne 11 Dec 2011

Did you KNOW anything about this request?
NO?
Well, you were ill-informed.
Not an insult, just a fact!

Betty,
You cannot ask anyone except the digitiser to change a design.
If this is an applique design and you want it as a filled design, you will be contravening copyright regulations by asking someone else, apart from the original digitiser, to change it for you.
That should have been included in the copyright regulations that should have come with this file.

I figured you must have had, otherwise you would not have done that.
But I really think it has to be made clear to everyone that permission was obtained.
We don't want people to get the impression that they can just change any design that they are not happy with.

ooops!
not happy with.

True Ricky. I just figured anyone seeing MY name on this would/should KNOW it was all above board. Thank God you understand the Queen's English and knew what I was saying. I am very touchy about such things and possibly way too sensitive right now. HNR, Meg

Meganne hit the nail on the head. And the same applies to me, I find it very hard to say no when it is something I can do. Doing all those doilies in extra sizes was quite a task and I had to say no in the end.
But to answer your question, if it's filling the applique sections that's not to difficult depending on the shape - taking out stitches can be time consuming. So, please, show us a picture.

Sorry Martine, I had already said no to them. One or two designs for one person is fine but when they keep wanting more and need them straight away, and then ask for tutorials on how to do them, when I have no experience with split designs to begin with....... Sorry you got lumbered with the rest of them.

I don't have an answer for you, as I am not a digitizer, but it's interesting reading the answers about embroidery. Hugs, Lidia

It takes digitising the fill stitches and depends on the design. Normally when you have a request for fellow Cuties, it is always best to post a picture so we can see what we're in for, before we commit ourselves.
Please always remember we are only fellow members, like yourself. We are in no way, what-so-ever, employed or connected to Cute Embroidery, so, though it may sound harsh, requests are at our discretion, depending on how dificult the design would be, how long it would take, how full our current commitments are, what time frame we have to work in. I love helping fellow Cuties and often do so to the detriment of my own projects, because I hate saying no. LOL!!!! I'm sure other Cutie digitisers do the same, so please post a pic for us and see who jumps in, or email it to me directly and I will look at it while I am embroidering this arvo. OK?

Hi Betty, nosey me - Are you sure applique won't work - I was afraid to try it, now I love it. It stitches really fast, covers a lot of area and saves on thread. Just thinking..... Lots of applique designs are that way for a reason, putting fill stitches in a large area makes for a very dense design...

stitches in a large area makes for a very dense design, and kind of ruins it ...

this is a small design which takes me an hour to stitch out because of all the small spaces to trim and instead of jump stitches it has basting stitches which are hard to cut from the fabric. This should not take more than 15 - 20 minutes to stitchout. A large applique design is one thing but a small design with many appliques is very difficult.

bettytaylor by bettytaylor 09 Dec 2011

it also has many appliques in it. If it were a large applique it would be no problem, but it is a bout 3.5 x 3 I do some applique and enjoy it but this design was not meant to be applique in my opinion

Hi Meganne, thank you for clarifying the matter about the digitizers here in Cute being only fellow members. I did not know that. You are so helpful and offer so many wonderful designs for free that I thought you had some connection with this site.

lidiad by lidiad 10 Dec 2011

A big thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart! Hugs, Lidia

No worries Lidia, I usually post this message on a more regular basis so the newbies are informed, but I've been a bit slack lately. LOL!!!
