Chris your picture of the three girls is delightful. Isn't it wonderful to make our grand daughters so happy
Hi Caroline, I was stoked to see them looking so pleased with them. Love Chris
UPDATED - Check out the Leotards on the girls now! Love Chris
Been over to Dana's and the girls were dressed in the Leotards I made. I had to make another one for Aqualina as the one above in the picture hanging on the coat hanger was too small!!!!! So I ended up making another one today between sizes - more around the tummy area and a bit extra on the chest! Aqualina hugged and hugged me for ages, she was so excited about getting a new one. I might give the other one to a friends little girl to play with. Second picture is them doing a pose.
1. Jasana, Aqualina and Bianca (Jasana's best friend)
2. All of them striking a pose!
Wow, Chris...the girls look stunning in those leotards...great job...and they fit them perfectly! So glad you had the fabric to make a second one for Aqualina...pheeew!
Thanks Kim and Meg. I bought 2 metres of all the fabrics, have still got lots over. They don't take much as the girls are small! Love Chris
It's amazing what you do on your sewing machine and you make your girls very happy.
This is gorgeous Chris! I love the shiny fabrics and the colors. I'll bet it looks great on her too. Aqualina can pass it to the little one Nora's age when she outgrows it. Lovely job, as always, and much prettier than all I've been making lately.-Toog
Oh! thanks Toogie, but what you have been making puts my Leotard to shame. The sheets and bags etc. you've just done are all amazing. You are right though the Leotard looks amazing on her. Love Chris
Gorgeous! This is quite an undertaking you have taken on and all the leotards are wonderful.
Oh so pretty. You do fine sewing sewing on this stuff. I've always put it off for some reason. Also love your organization in the background Chris. Nice piece of work.
Thanks Patty. I have a bit of OCD I'm sure. I've got 20 little cubby holes where I place fabrics and battings etc. Love Chris
What an awesome job you have done on this Chris! Multi talented!
Beautiful Chris!! Gorgeous blue! I remember making leotards and dance costumes for my daughter for many years, but I've no grandchildren to make them for now!
Thanks Maria, they are fun and the look on the GC's faces makes it all worthwhile. Love Chris
Lovely leotard. The first thing I thought of when I saw the fabric in the yoke & sleeves, was it would make a lovely mermaid outfit.Reading the other comments ,it seems I wasn't the only one who thought of mermaids.
You are right Judy, the fabric lends itself well to sea creatures! Love Chris
Lovely Chris, it sounds as if you could have a new career making these
Thanks Caroline, that's what Jason said (Dana's husband)! I don't want to sew for other people though, as that way you are under pressure to make things on time and I like to sew when I want to! Love Chris
Another spectacular job, Chris...it is gorgeous and I know Aqualina is delighted to have it and show it off!
It is looking so great. Love it. It is wonderful to be able to spoil your grand kids in this way. It is these little things that we treasure as we grow older and she will always remember for it.
Thanks Eleen, yes, I always remember with fondness my Grandmother making my outfits as a little girl. Love Chris
Love this outfit, really nice sewing job.The fabric is gorgeous. Hugs Lynn
Beautiful colors and another great job in making this one. It is beautiful.
Just wait until she "needs" a mermaid tail to go with it (made out of the silver and black).
That is spectacular. I've always wanted to try sewing with leotard materials. Haven't perfected my overlocker yet. LOL.
Can I ask is it easy-ish and did you buy the material from Spotlight?
Thanks,
Kathy
Hi Kathy, I used the overlocker on all the major seams. Just my normal sewing machine for sewing down the neckline, leg openings and wrists. It's a dead easy pattern and I bought this fabric from Newcastle Lincraft at Garden City. Love Chris
P.S. You can use any stretchy form of fabric. I've seen some gorgeous fabrics at the Gymnastic Academy where the girls go but they aren't Lycra, more a stretchy style abstract designs in Jersey.
Be patient, but now Gran is full steam ahead. You have made another beautiful leotard Chris, love the colour the sparkles to, really makes it stand out as she shall . Aqualina will look stunning in her new outfit. Sandra.
Dana took a photo of her in it and she looks gorgeous. Fits her like a glove! Love Chris
Of course Grandma will come through. You did great job. Love love the blue and shiny
You have done a lovely job Chris. I am sure Aqualina will love it. I love this colour. Hugs Marg
