I have this piece of stretchy knit gold lame....yes, yes I do......it's 5 yards. I think I bought it for $1 a yard at Walmart way back with the idea to make "Christmas something" out of it....any inspired ideas from you talented people? I'm cleaning out my fabric stash!

Didn't Santa have a gold bag? or was it red? Stretchy? You could probably fit a kayak in there. Lol (some tim allen movie)!

How about a simple short open style jacket to wear for the holidays with anything.

I'm not real fancy, but that would be cute. It's really nice fabric. I'm sure that was it's purpose.....garments. Thanks.

How about an evening wrap?Or a table runner? Scarfs for small tables then applique christmas theme shapes(bell, hen, rings. dove, drums etc)

I do lean towards runners and draped in piles under displays. Thanks.

Wow you all have some great ideas. Making me want to go find some gold lamé. You could make you a fabulous dress suitable for Christmas or New Years.
Check out the link below for the Lamé dress. It's on sale, too. Do a search for Lame.

Christmas tree decorations, cut out in different shapes with glitter or such around the edges.

I also thought you could wrap Styrofoam ball with it as ornaments as it has stretch that would make that work well. Thanks!

It would make a lovely embroidered tree skirt, gift bags or quick stockings for Christmas. I find the best way to clear out my fabric stash is to use it up.

How about an FSL lace pattern stitched on it for a pillow, then doll it up with trims.

Well, I certainly have plenty of those designs.....hmmmmm, I'll have to see how it does with embroidery, it is sturdy. Thanks!

I wouldn't get rid of it as it is hard to come by now. If you have a Overlocker ( Serger) it is easy to sew. Make a T Shirt with it or gift bags. I would try embroidery on it using sticky stabilizer. If that didn't work make patches and sew on Christmas themes.

I think it would work great for both of those....I was going to try embroidering on it, I think you could. THNX

What about a holiday table cloth. Just 4 zig zag seams for the hems and your done.

Donate it, it was only $5.00. This stretchy stuff is a pain to work with
