For quite some time I have used the thread from Metro for my Brother machines and always had good luck with it. Recently I got some that my machines do not like. Have any of you tried the Sigma thread that they also offer? How does it compare?

I use Metro and I have only had one spool that was a problem...the thread had too much stretch...just a batch in that color. I ordered some Sigma to try it...it sews fine, but it is not nearly as shiny and the colors are not as vibrant as the Metro...and I don't like the size of their spools compared to the Metro...they don't fit well in my storage boxes along side the Metro spools...sorry you are having a problem...I didn't know about the five days to report a problem either...

I ordered some Sigma in the colors that I am having a problem with so I'm hoping for the best.

With your Metro spools try putting them on the floor or on one of those tall thread holders. I think it might be an issue with the twist. Giving it more time to unwind might help.

I got an email about the Sigma being on sale and want to try it but first wanted to know what others thought of it. Thanks to all for your comments.

Defective thread must be reported within 5 days and I didn't know there was anything wrong until after that time had passed. I guess one should make it a practice to test each spool as soon as you get it but because I have not had problems in the past I did not do that.

I read that after I suggested you contact them , I think sometimes we just get a bad batch, I know I don't try thread out in 5 days, I have some still in wrappers I bought months ago.

I have a brother and I tried both the metro and sigma. I like the sigma better and have great results with it. I am going to order some more because I just went to their site and it is on sale for 75cents a spool for the 1000 meter ones.

I am doing better with the sigma thread. It is not as shiny as Metro, but I prefer it. The price is the same. The one that is more expensive is Glide and I have not tried that one. I first started with Metro but would get occasionally a spool that gave me trouble. I use them for bobbins.

I have 100 spools of CTS thread that my Brothers will not use so I think that is enough bobbin thread to last me the rest of my life. The trouble is that I don't like to wind bobbins when I can just pop in a pre-wound. Call me lazy. LOL

Me too, but since I love FSL I will use them up eventually

the new thread is more expensive and there is no much difference, I believe the metro was better.
