6578This turned out beautiful--I had never seen burlap stitched on either until Mary's projects. Wonderful job. With 3 layers of tearaway it probably didn't make a big mess inside of machine I would think but could be wrong---I've not tried burlap yet!!!!

At our embroidery party Friday, they suggested that the first time you stitch on burlap, first pour yourself a glass of wine. (I'm a tee-totaler, but I had already decided I wasn't getting all that lint in my machine!)

I agree no different than many other things we tend to use. I have had some cotton leave more behind than the burlap.
