You need to save the file in a word format in word pad. To do this: Open the file in word pad, down at the bottom are two drop downs, one for the file name and under it is a file extender. You are using rich text format (rtf), click on the down arrow and change it to the word type. Then you should be able to open it and save as a pdf. Hope this makes sense and works for you.
Do you mean 'text document' when you say 'change it to the word type'? I'm sorry to sound stupid, but I think I am, when it comes to computers or typing. If I do this will it show my photos in text document?
It may not show the pictures as a text document. Do you have Microsoft Word on your machine? if so, copy everything to word and then it will be easy to make a pdf.
Hallo Toogie,
Angelika
What site did you dl it from? It's not just the program but the sites I don't want to get virus or pop-up from. Maybe Smokey12 has an answer. Thank you for helping.
Hallo Toogie,
ich habe es von dieser Seite:
https://de.pdf24.org
Es ist eine deutsche Seite - kein virus und kein pop-up bei mir und funktioniert sehr gut.

I do believe that open office does this function. Christie uses it all the time. I hope to catch her tomorrow and will mention your post.
The Chrome browser does the same as the mac, I think. Click on settings, then on print, then change printer to pdf. I do that with a lot of the cc files.
I have that done, teddybear117, but it won't even give me that option, or show up with this file type. It's a rtd file created by Word Pad. If you have Word Pad try it and see what yours does. I have an HP printer and I use google chrome.
Have your tried to print this file? Then the save as a PDF option should show up. Hugs. Nan W
I did that but for some unknown reason to me, it printed my photos blk & wht ......but I could save it then in pdf. This was a rtd file from Word Pad.
Hi toogie, To change a word file into a PDF you actually go to Print it. Then choose the selection to Print to PDF. It doesn't actually print it, it just "prints" it by turning it into a PDF. At least that's how I do it on a Mac and I think it works that way on Windows machines too.
I have done that before but I had to scan whatever and then it would say PRINT TO PDF- In Word Pad it won't let me do that. My young guy I usually asked told me where to go. I didn't dl a program but I got it changed to a pdf. Someone wanted directions for the little doll sleeping bag and another needed the lap pad, so now I have them both in a pdf file. Thank you and its good to hear from you-Toogie
I have never had an issue with any downloads from CNET.Here is a link to a free one. Sometimes they may only be trial version and later you have the choice to purchase them or not.
Hope this helps
Hi, thank you, although I am still hesitant to dl a program. I don't like pop-ups or viruses-lol-I did get my file done. It was info, for the doll sleeping bag and the bed pad for invalids, that I made up. If you need either one, send me a pm with your email address! Thanks so much for helping me-Toogie
CNET has always been safe for me too - they scan everything before they make it available for download. I use "Cute PDF" that I got from there and it works very well and no virus.
I went yesterday to the public library and took the file on my USB stick. The guy there used the program they had on their computers and made me a pdf of my bed pad for invalids, saved it on my USB stick. Their program was Cute PDF but I don't know what site they got it from.
The guy that worked on my pc wherever I need, told me to go to a certain site. They upload your file, convert it to pdf and it drops down like our emb files, for you to save. You then delete it, or it is automatically deleted, after 24 hours. I did my doll sleeping bag there.
