Lovely job, very pretty bottom sure the top is just as lovely.
Thank you for sharing Happy Stitching;~)
What a beautiful job you have done....I only regret that you did not show the entire gown...I love heirloom sewing!
What an absolutely breathe taking gown. The baby will look and be a real doll in this .
You have done a beautiful job! I love all the entredeux and insertion lace, along with the embroidery!! The only thing I don't like, is not being able to see the whole gown!!! Beautiful-Toogie
I thought I was posting the whole dress. I will try to find one to put up. Design from Martha Pullen.
Gorgeous. I do a lot of embroidering names and dates on the slips and add each additional sibling as they are christened. (make a file of the size, thread brand and color, and font you use to keep them similar from child to child)
That is a great idea-I don't think my DIL cared that much for it and she would have liked to have BOUGHT and PICKED her own for the baby. My Bad!!!
this is stunning.... I have made many Christening dresses for the babys and now my grand kids... it is so fun to do.. I still have tons of lace left over ... this baby will be in a beautiful gown.. hope you take pictures..
Oh wow! Love the laces around the bottom and the stitching is gorgeous. How many hours did this take, not that you counted, but I might need to know some day when planning such a grand project. Also, what is fabric - it has a pretty "hand", the way it falls.
I just used a regular Batiste--not the expensive type--Martha Pullen Cutwork design. No, I don't count hours because with me everything is start and stop.
I enlarged it and wow!. The designs and lace are beautiful.
I keep forgetting to enlarge things. You can see so much more detail that way!
I am going to try to find a pic of the whole thing--though that was what I posted. Design was from Martha Pullen.
