7/27 I am back on line for a few days and loving it. I do like my comforts as I knew I always have. We did quite well living without being plugged in. Thank goodness for batteries and water tanks. I am loving the travel trailer and enjoying living in it short term. I have learned that it is very different than living in a house. Every day I am learning something new. Like, I really like the slide out giving us so much more room to move through the place. But I love the peace and cosiness. I grew up in a family that liked tent camping. My memories of this are cooking over a campfire and rain, thunder and lightning. I have always refused to go camping as an adult because of this. But I do love having my own kitchen, bed, and full bath. Thanks for the support and the ideas and suggestions.

I like the creature comforts also. Camping is fun for the short term, however staying at a cabin is better!

I had envisioned a life similar to that all the years I worked. Things simply do not workk out as we hope some times, but still I Am thankful for all the days God gives me. Glad you are getting to enjoy a retirement life with your hubby Karen. It has got to be a lot of fun to hit the road whenever you choose./Lillian

Great to have you back with us , even for a while. I am not a great camper. Went once as a child. It poured with rain for two weeks. Everything was soaking wet. Our beds our clothes. Although that was back in the fifties, it has put me off any type of camping for life. Never again.

Sounds like fun and more the retirement you both envisioned than the way things started. Going out makes you appreciate coming home!

I am glad you enjoyed yourself. I love how you said "coziness". They are cozy. Did you notice that you learn to live on less water and power? Are you already planning your next trip?

When we camp in our TINY 17' camper, it makes me wonder about all the clutter I have at the house! Do I really need so much "stuff". It certainly makes me spend more time outside. I love camping! My 81 year old mother her 87 year old hubby are tent camping this week! Enjoy your "getaways"!
