Sounds lovely! And extra special with family! So of coure I had to go off and have a looksy, and I remembered an island that is most important for it biodiversity. I found this excellent article on an amazing website.

Italy is my favourite place in Europe. Charlotte and Paul just loved their six months there and this is why we have thought so much about SIcily. Klaus has always wanted to go there and if we do no do it soon we will never do it. Just have to save up the pennies for next year :)

I've been - many years ago - and absolutely loved it! My brother has just returned from Italy and Sicily, and he loved it. He was born in Sicily (I was born here in Australia), and he wants to go back as he didn't have enough time there to do a lot of research into our family history.
I am sure you will enjoy it - wish I was coming with you!

Although I haven't been, it sounds like a nice anniversary getaway. Hope you enjoy yourselves!
