I would like to have some advice from cuties if possible, for my embroidery machine please. Can I use pressurised air to clean under the bobbin area and further down, from lint dust and fluff from felt. The brush with my maintenance kit does not remove all and the machine is noisy. It is getting expensive to take back to the shop where i bought it from. waiting your comments. Thanking you. Sandra

Wow this was interesting for me also. naughty naughty me! I have always used the canned air. I will never use canned air again on my embroidery machine. I do use a artist paint brush and that catches a lot of Lint.I will be looking for a small vacuum to be used on my machine. Suzanna

I wouldn't use canned air either. I had a cold, wet spray at first when learning how to use it for other things...not just a burst of air! I'm another Q-tip and vacuum user. You can do it!

I use a pipe cleaner to clean the bobbin area. Amazing how much more the pipe cleaner can catch. It is also easier to get in some of the small places. Also use a vacuum ever since I was advise not to use pressurized air.

Use a small, hand-held vacuum cleaner.
Don't use pressurised air because it pushes the lint and fluff inside the machine.
Hugs, Lidia

I use a brush for a quick cleaning but Q-tips with long wooden handles for much of the cleaning of the machine. They can get down in between and into tiny spaces. The cotton tips pick up lint like a dream. I have found the long Q-tips in dollar stores. Whenever I see them, I pick up a package to have them on hand. The canned air on the sewing/embroidery machine runs a real risk of driving the air in the wrong direction. Also be sure to use a good quality thread that does not produce a lot of lint. All thread is not created equal. I tend to use Gutterman or Mettler thread for sewing and Madiera for embroidery. There are several good brands to chose from. I hope this helps

I use a clean make up brush, my needle nose tweezers and of course my vacuum cleaner to get all the lint out. You can use what ever clean brush you have that works for you. Hugs. Nan W

I buy paint brushes in the craft section and take the parts out that i can and clean after each time I use the machine. I have never used the air in the can.

I had a small hard brush with the machine, that I use, but a small paint brush would do just as well the dust sticks to the bristles and works well.

I have read several places not to use canned air on our computerized machines. It blows the lint, etc inside the machine which is bad as dealer would have to disassemble machine to reach area lint blown into. An old tooth brush could be used and then wipe an oil soaked Q tip in bobbin race.

Thank you for your comments, you have been helpful. I did not realize that I may push it further down.I would not want to do any damage, the machine was costly to purchase. Sandra.

I also would not use compressed air. I use a tiny vacuum cleaner which I bought years ago for cleaning keyboards
