I am glad to see that you have all the good times memorialized with the beautiful pictures. What wonderful times you had. Sorry to see the pool go.
It is bitter sweet. Even though we enjoyed it for a long time, it was time to say 'goodbye'. I am glad I have my pictures, too
While your pool has gone your memories remain. Thanks for all the great pictures of your family enjoying the pool
I know how it is to have a pool Toogie. Mine has been a gathering for the kids, grand kids and now greats for more than 20 yrs. I have seen some many of the kids grow up, get married and if they are still near by they will ask can they bring their kids now. Most of those kids have parent s are grand parents still in the area. some I never knew their names, just friends or school mates of my Grand kids. We've had ice cream socials and picnics for the church out around the pool and it was enjoyed by all. Now as new homes are being built in this area they are adding pools so we will probably have friends of the greats this summer. I don't guess you ever get to old to enjoy kids having a great time in the water./Lillian
What about you, Lillian, having a good time in the water? I so enjoyed a relaxing float. I have even got so relaxed I would doze off. My brother in law used to say I was gonna drown. I told him I think when my head went under, surely I would wake up.-lol- I LOVE the water, always have. I have seen your pool in one of your post and it is very nice. I can see why it is so used by friends and family.
What special memories and great pictures too. I think it is amazing that the deck and pool lasted so long. It was a huge pool too. Avery looked so cute in her little ruffled swim suit.
Wasn't she cute! The pool was a good size, 24 feet round and it had an expandable liner, so my husband dug it out deeper than the 4 foot wall. It has been raining again, ever since we took it up,and we were going to get a truck to bring us some dirt to fill it in. Either, the yards too wet for the truck to come in or it's raining. Either way, now we have a pond in the back yard. Uh....
What a shame it had to go - what incredible memories you have. Your garden looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Like I said, this chapter is over, but it has left us with fond memories. Thanks Sarah, about the yard, it has changed over the years. We have more trees now and although I still have flowers, it has been harder for me to keep the weeding done. If I could show you my photos that I love to take. I take photos of nature, flowers, bugs, butterflies, insects, skies. I said I was going to make myself a DVD slideshow of them all. My plan being, when I get where I can't move around anymore or bedridden, someone can put in my DVD of my pictures and soft music for me, and I'll be content.
Fun times will be remembered by all! Nice pics of the family. Your property looks like a park.
Thanks, I'm in the country with woodland around. A friend of mine said, I have the biggest front yard she has ever seen-lol- I have a front and a back porch, we call it. In the mornings you can take your coffee on the front and in the afternoons,in the back. My front goes the length of the house, has a hanging swing, 4 rocking chairs, 3 swivel/rocker outdoor chairs, a rocking settee and some small rocker/chairs for the kids and a few plants, etc. The back porch is smaller but has 3 rocking chairs & 4 patio chairs. We enjoy the outdoors, before it gets too hot in the day.
I enjoyed your awesome pictures but*****were are you in these???hugs
The pictures tell the story of how much your family enjoyed the pool. Great memories to treasure.
Sounds like you have wonderful memories because of your pool!! I bet your kids won't forget the fun they had in it!! Must have been a good one - to last so very long!! Hugs to you and yours, Laura*
It was a good pool. I bet you can't get a good one like this today. The deck needs to be bleached and resealed and it should still look good. It was made out of 2x6 treated lumber, very heavy and sturdy. My kids do remember. Their daddy worked at school and brought them home with him in the afternoons. I didn't work much back then and would always have then a cinnamon coffeecake (my son reminded me) or hot cookies from the oven or a freezer of ice cream made. Sweet memories.
Well Toogie it was a much loved pool and so glad you had it for so long. Great to see all the previous piccies. Love Chris
Yes, we did Chris, enjoy it I mean. Living in an area with no water around, it sure was a relief to cool off in the summers. Ashley's friends enjoyed it growing up,too. I forgot I wanted to post a photo of Avery in the pool. I guess I will have to edit already-lol
