I have noticed the different way the side fabric is woven on zippers. I thought it was something different manufacturers did.?.?

1941I bought several zips earlier this week & the designs in the tapes were different but I think each manufacturer of zips have their own tape design.Also I noticed the plastic teeth of the zippers are getting finer .Maybe tape designs changed over the years too but they still work regardless of design or age.

299557I agree with the others. Picture 2 is an invisible zipper. The first one will have a bit different weave next to the zipper. That is a stitching quide for sewing in the zipper.

& they are easier then you think! you try everything so try this too. You will wonder why you waited after you have made one. & a little purse is just the ticket!
