Thank you! Not really....you just need patience to cut out the fabric like in applique work :) as others have mentioned here before a sharp pointy small scissors are the best!
Do give it a try....you dont want to miss out on such a lovely thing! Good luck :)

Dont be intimidated by cutwork. ...if you have tried applique you can do this too :)
