I need creative help with an Italian Flag. It is for a Catholic School that my granddaughter attends in the United States. She is suppose to stay true to the flag but be creative and I have no idea how to do this. My dil wants different printed fabric pieced together for each color. I suggested appliqueing trees on green to represent Italian landscapes, mountains on the white to represent the Alps and crosses on the red to represent those lost in the fight for independence. I also suggested the Faith, Hope and Charity interpretation. She did not like the ideas as she said it was not true to the flag colors. I said printed fabric was not true to the colors either. Her argument was the fabric was preprinted so it was okay but it is not okay to add anything to the fabric now. The picture below shows the fabric pieced together the way my dil had my granddaughter do it. I said it looks like a doll blanket and not a flag. She took the kids to school in a huff this morning and I have no idea how to help my granddaughter be creative without upsetting her Mom. I would greatly appreciate any ideas as I am at a complete loss. Thank you so much. Hugs, Barba

I was about to suggest that you step back then I see that has already been said. Schools sometimes have huge expectations as to what is to be done at home.

I agree and they do not always take into consideration the time it takes and the fact that usually both parents work outside the home. thanks you with hugs, Barba
