UPDATED Thank you everyone for your help with the sleeves.

You may remember that I made these pajama's for my grandson for Christmas? As you can see the sleeves are too short so I am wondering how I fix this? I have serged everything including the cuffs? Do I unpick the serged stitches & maybe add a green cuff or is there a better way to do this. Do I have to undo the sleeve part too? How do I know how big to make the cuff? Should I fold a pc of fabric in half to make it or do I just add a hem to it? I am a bit confused here & could use some help please & thank you

Looks good. It looks like you planned to do it that way in the begining.

They look great with the bands matching, now if he grows up and not out just add another band of colour to what is there to get the new length multi colour pj's. lol Marian

I would add as much length as you need to the sleeves in the green contrast. Just unpick the sleeve hem if you can or cut it off which ever works best for you and then do the hem exactly the same as you did for the pants. Will look great and no one will know except you. Don't forget to adjust your pattern while it is fresh in your mind so when you do the next one it will be the correct length.

I'd do the cuffs just the same as you did the legs. They will look great!

Exactly what I thought, but you beat me to it.

Another option would be to cut the sleeve off midway up and insert a band of the contrasting fabric. Make this band as wide as you need to get the length you need.

I would do it the way dragonflyer has suggested or I might try a layered look. Use knit fabric (T-shirt) and extend the arms that way.

Thats what I would do also.

I would cut off the serged hem...add a new length to the sleeve even if it is a contrasting fabric..and re-hem...if they are too short as well..add the same fabric to the pants...or add a cuff to the pants with the same fabric...

I have added the full picture of the bottoms too so you can see the green & orange. Should I make the cuff like the bottoms? I did the bottoms by folding a pc of green in half & then adding the orange bias trim in between then stitched that. How big should I make the cuff how do I know?

dragonflyer by dragonflyer 11 Jan 2015

That is exactly what I would do..and they would match!

pldc by pldc 11 Jan 2015

how long do I need to make the cuff

dragonflyer by dragonflyer 11 Jan 2015

The cuff can be as wide as you want it to be....

jrob by jrob 12 Jan 2015

Make the cuff whatever length you need to have the sleeves be the correct length.
