ttt-finally answering everyone-thanks for your concerns and hopefully, today, is the day of my turnaround. I do fell some better.
Toogie the thought of cooking for 23 leaves me stunned. Hope the cough cold bronchitis etc goes fast and you recover quickly
I think I may finally be on the turn around. Today, I feel some better, so lets hope..... I start cooking/baking about 2 days before Christmas, would never get it all done otherwise. Christmas day, I do my meats, turkey, roast and either meatloaf or ham (most prefer my meatloaves) and my rolls. The day before Christmas I have my vegetables/sides cooked ( just have to warm for Christmas day, only way to get it all done) If by chance I haven't done the cookies, day before, I do them this day. Then 2 days before I bake cookies and pies, and also make my candies. I have a routine or else I wouldn't get it all done.
Good to see you toogie. I watched a lot of the hallmark movies this season. I also found it difficult to find good Christmas music on the cable or on the radio. I had to dig out the cd's. Enjoy your time this week and have a safe New Year holiday!
I wondered what happened to you, so very sorry you are ill. Christmas sounds super and the rest day is a must. You might try putting Vicks Vapor rub on the soles of your feet and put some heavy socks on. It works to stop the endless coughing, in about 5 minutes.
Knew of the Vicks and tried that, but didn't help this time. The cough med had codine in it and that didn't even help...The cough is better I hope I have reached the turning point, as today I feel better than I have. Thanks
So good to see you posting. So not good to hear you are sick though. It sounds like you had a good Christmas so I am thankful for that. And I think watching Hallmark movies is the best medicine to make you rest. If you can't lay down without coughing, try sleeping in a recliner. I have often done that and been able to get some sleep. I hope your dizzies haven't kicked u with all of the stress and being sock.
Dizzies haven't lasted, they come and go, just short episodes. I do sleep better in the recliner, but then the back starts hurting. I have heard before, its no fun getting old-lol- So sorry to take so long to answer everyone, just haven't felt like being on too long.
Toogie I hope you will feel better soon. You have been sick enough. It sounds as if you had a great Christmas. I can just see all the snowballs flying through the air.
I can so identify with you. I have done the same thing if I wanted to rest. Turn to Hallmark and watch TV all day. Also since my husband passed away I have no clue what is going on with football and baseball.........unless I find out through the news that the local team is in the finals. That is the time I will watch the games.
Get better soon
The only time I watch the games is when my grandkids are playing-lol- and then it makes me anxious. I am starting to get a headache, probally from no sleep last night so I'm getting off a while. I do want to post those photos of dragonflyers snowballs, soon.
Toogie, I hope you are feeling much better today!! Glad your family Christmas gathering was great and lots of memories gained!! I have always loved the Halllmark movies, too!! Rest and get well!!
Hugs, Angel
I thank you for the well wishes, but I have not slept all night. I did go to bed. I coughed and coughed, for one and a half hours, even after taking cough med from the Dr for bronchitis. I just got on up. I had tried getting up drinking water and going back to bed but the minute my head was down the coughing started. so... I stayed up and cleaned, straighten, threw away old, near empty bottles, etc in my hall bathroom. My bath closet is now so neat and so is my 6 drawers and middle cabinet. It makes me aggravated though, but I noticed I hardly coughed, once I was up.
Hi Toogie..so glad you took a minute to pop in...sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas celebration...sorry to hear you are not feeling well, but hope for a speedy and full recovery...so glad the Snowkids Snowballs were a hit...can't wait to see all of the pictures from your holiday and new bathroom set...Have a Happy New Year...
Thanks and the same to you! I just posted the bath photos in Sewing but I have to look through my snowball photos. My daughter took some with her camera too. I know hers are better, capturing the movement, as for some reason my was delayed in snapping. It's a hassle to try to get her to bring her camera card for me to dl.
So glad you had a great time Toogie and that your family enjoyed everything. Isn't it nice just watching old movies, I too love doing that? We are going out for dinner (in an hour) before Mum leaves tomorrow (Trev's Mum has been staying with us - she is 88) she has been with us since last Tuesday. She is a spritely old girl. I wish our crowd had taken home some food, we only had 9 adults and 2 children but there was enough food for us right up till today. I still have some ham on the bone and some roast pork left. The garbage men come tomorrow, so we have everything from Christmas to go out. Happy New Year to you. Love Chris
P.S. I hope you get better real soon.
Chris, I cooked a pork roast, too. My family loves it. I also had a turkey, cooked in the Butterball oil free turkey fryer. Everyone loved that too, it was so moist. I didn't do a ham this year. Quite a few of the grands and son in laws like my meatloaves. I know this seems odd for Christmas but you give them what they want.-lol- Three of my guest were drop-ins, my son-in-laws parents and a niece. They spent the afternoon, but left before the evening meal. They had had their children over on the Sunday, and had their Christmas with them then. My daughter invited them over, since they would be alone Christmas day. She did inform me Christmas morning, but she knew it was fine with me. You may see them in some of the snowball photos I will try to post later for dragonflyer.
Wow, Toogie, sounds like you had a great Christmas (except for getting sick!!). Can't wait to see some pictures!! Hugs to you and yours. PS: I also watched some of the Hallmark Christmas movies!! Hugs, Laura*
I love old movies and Hallmark has some of the best. I just posted the bath photos in Sewing. I will try to post the others later.
