what is the best stabilizer to use for redwork on kitchen towels?

I dislike looking at excess cut-away stabilizer on the reverse side and generally have the feeling that I will damage the bobbin threads if using tear-away so will use a WSS on top and bottom of tea towels. Also, use a matching colored bobbin.

Think I will use a WSS. I too am afraid I will damage the bobbin thread. Thanks for your help.

I use one layer vilene on bottom and one on top.

Be sure to use a wash away topping to keep the stitches from sinking in and getting lost in the nap. Hugs. Nan W

I use "Tear & Wash backing" from The Embroidery Store. 1-800-504-9757 Rarely do I need to use more than one thickness. I like backing to wash out so it looks more like hand embroidery. Check their website. Some very good prices. Kay
