I have a story to tell & it goes right along the stress points of the renovation that we started back in March.. We ordered a new fridge & bought the extended warranty thankfully so

it may just be the smartest purchase we made.....
because we have had the fridge all of 4 months when things started to go wrong. We have had repairmen out to fix it twice now & that meant going through our Thanksgiving back in Oct without a working fridge. The repairman came & fixed it temporarily & that lasted 2 weeks now here it is another month has come & gone & hubs has called most every day to complain & me I just keep getting thicker hives..............they tell us the part is not available till Dec 26th? Hubs said he would not put up with that & wanted it replaced asap. Today they called to tell us our Brand New Fridge exactly the same as the one we have would be here in 7- 10 business days I only hope that this is true otherwise we will be without a working fridge for Christmas? What a nightmare...........

I am quite pleased that the end of this is so close. Thanks so much for letting me vent my frustrations...........I do so much appreciate it

Take heart Lorayle, it is that time of the year, I don't think they like the over powering hot days. What happened to the fridge will last you twenty years, maybe I am showing my age. Glad you have had a good result. hugs

I am so sorry for your nightmare renovation and your honey is very sweet to bring you azaleas. Now if the contractor and the appliance company and anyone else who has caused you stress during this renovation also would send you a beautiful plant then that would likely cure those hives and give you the best garden in your area for all the stress you have had to put up with! Hopefully this will be over with shortly and you can enjoy the completed job with no further problems.

Good Luck and hope your new refrigerator works perfect. Those extended warranty's are a good purchase when buying big (costly) appliances.

we are so very glad that we bought it. It covers everything from the removal & the new hookup since we have the ice maker & the water dispenser. I am glad of that as well if hubs is @ work I would not have a clue. ~thanks Juanita ~hugs~

I was always told not to buy extended warranty's, but I think your lemon is a good example that it did pay off. If the frig goes you loose all the frozen items which could be big bucks. Yes, I have had this happen and is exactly why I have a back up refrigerator in my garage. I use it year around and consider it a God sent . Kay

we have been compensated twice now for the loss if food. Fortunately the freezer is still working separate control panel. It was the control panel for the fridge top so it freezes up the elements so the fridge will not get cold. Thanks Kay I just hope that it is here like they have said 7days

Get it in writing that this warranty begins now and not retroactively. You've really had it with this whole project.

your right of course & we have asked about that since it is a new fridge if the warranty begins when the new one arrives & they are checking. ~thanks ~hugs~

I certainly hope your new fridge arrives soon and causes you no problems.
I also had a problem with my fridge at one time which ended up in a funny story.
We had had a posting in Sydney and bought a new fridge while there, we then returned to a small country town in Queensland and the repair man was 18 miles away. The fridge started up a periodical high pitched whistling and naturally it didn't do it when he arrived. He came several times and it checked out fine. Finally I rang again and time his wife answered the phone and before I could speak she said "Are you the lady with the Whistling fridge?" I said Yes and she said "He will be there as soon as possible." and hung up. He arrived about 45 minutes later and naturally it had stopped by then, but as I let him in he said "Put the kettle on and make a cuppa, I have strict instructions to stay here until it starts and to fix it. My wife says she could hear it through the phone and she would not be able to live with it," He sat in the kitchen for about 2 hours, found a pinhole in a pipe a couple of minutes after the whistle started and fixed it and it never whistled again.
Cheers, Bev.

we are dealing with the company lol we do our best to go to the top whenever we can. First thing we do is ask for their supervisor nothing worse then repeating the same story over & over again lol.

I can sympathize with you. I was without one for a month just before Easter. Gave them an ultimatum on Easter Saturday that if they didn't come and get it I was setting it curbside for the trash collection. Told me I couldn't do that...long story short I purchased one from a different company had it the next day and did set the one out for the trash collection. Even though it was Easter Sat. They were out to pick it up. Bless your heart, what next?

well I did mention that I would go to every social media site I was a participant of if we didn't get this resolved & the next day they called to tell us we are getting a brand new one. So here I am but I have not mentioned the brand & will not mention it unless they bale on us. It was a bold move but I was not sure what else I could do.............

Sometimes a nudge in the right direction is just the impetus they need to do the right thing. I'm proud of you and your taking a stand. Good Luck! Companies usually expect people to roll over and not do anything. hugs
