Their designs are beautiful and stitches out very well. I have also been put off a bit by the skull, but realised that it is only the type of designs that some other people might fancy. I am very traditional and love softer and more feminine designs. Overall their stuff is very good.
Hi. You are not alone. I too have been turned off from the "skull" and my search on their site ended and went no further. The UT site might be smart to read some of this feedback and consider their home page's first impression. After reading the positive comments that cuties have left you, I will look further into UT to see what they are speaking about.
they have a special type of collection, I do like their designs
I must return to UT to see what is new with them. Thanks for reminding me. Hugs, Suzanna
Felt the same way in the beginning. Don't get many of their designs, but the ones I do get are beautiful.
Well i'm in the same boat have never looked through urban,
so perhaps a cup of coffee and a nice long browse is in order lol
can always store some new designs for a rainy day lol
big hugs from London x
I noticed several years ago that UT and Emblibrary had same physical address. It is almost like Emblibrary is their work and UT is their play. Kay
Yes - I agree EmbLib and Urban Threads are acquainted and got same
digitzers. They are so friendly. Once I desparetely was looking for the
thread list for the apron of my daughter (some may remember: Baking is hot - for Marie) and I searched at Emblib and finally inquired. The lady
which answered was so friendly and gave me the link to the sister site
Urban Threads where I found the thread list and everything. Love both sites. I think UrbanThreads is doing the unexpected, progressive and young designs and EmbLib the conservative ones
but both are great to have :-)
And you should read their tutorials, some are hilariously written! I like their designs because they are so different and stitch out really well.
yes that's true; ti you ever read the tutorial about how to make a coat for a dog ? love it !
Never judge a book by it's cover. I too saw the skull but was curious and spent "HOURS" at their site, wishing and buying designs. Love that they have both machine and hand embroidery designs. Yes their inspiration page is jaw dropping. So drop by. I'm in a quandary as to which Christmas designs (want them all) to buy. Thanks for noticing them. Kudos.
I have done exactly the same. That skull really turned me off. Now I will take a closer look and maybe I will feel the same way as everyone else.
I use alt of their designs for the boys and teen girls. They love them.
I think the skull logo is to give a clue that they do edgy designs as opposed to the cutesy ones that are out there. I have many of their designs and they are very well done.
I'm with you that the skull is very negative. Image is almost everything!
I find it a disturbing but have looked at their designs and have several.
Be sure to check out their inspiration pages as there are some amazing projects that have been done by them and customers. Hugs. Nan W
Sarah glad you have looked further at UT as their designs are varied and different. It is the site that I buy from the most. You will probably find designs that you can sew for your older grandsons there. Happy Sewing with this great source of machine embroidery designs. The current freebie is great too as the last one had many of us scratching our heads about it.
Once you have been bitten you can't stop returning, it's nice they have something for every taste.. Marian
I think it is a sister site of EmbLibrary. Some of the same directors. I did check it out some time back.
I have a funny feeling Sarah that some of the designers on there are from Emb Library, but I'm not sure! Love Chris (and yes they have gorgeous things)
P.S. Just checked and yes they are!
