Sausage pillowcase I made for grandson. I wanted to post a visual about placing the pieces for sewing. This always makes me 'think', because it can be confusing. I emb on the left side of the long 9 inch cuff. (google sausage pillowcase instructions on the net how to make) This cuff ends up folded in half and you only have one side seam, so keep this in mind when you find your center, for design placement. What I wanted to show, is if you have one way design fabrics, how to place it.#1 -embroidery #2 this is first placement-right side of fabric up but emb upside down #3 main pillowcase fabric right side up but designs up-side down #4 The 2 inch trim is folded and pressed in half BUT when you lay it on the fabrics, lay it upside down. Also place your fabrics even at the edge. I placed them like this so you could see all 3 pieces.-Then you sew like the instructions by first rolling all the main fabric, like a long sausage, and bringing your other long cuff edge, over it all.- I hope this helps someone who also gets confused like me, sometimes, from ending with your emb cuff upside down or the emb cuff being inside the case when finished and not on the outside for you to see.-Toogie

Images are back! Yayyy!!! Check your pm I sent and let me know if you see anything okay? Thanks for doing the pictures as I get confused myself when doing the pillowcases. I don't do them often enough to remember, old dogs may learn new tricks but they can't remember the new tricks. Hahaha!!!!

Thanks for posting this Toogie, I can usually mess mine up somehow or other, and forget each time I do a set. Images are messing around today on my computer so can't wait till they're back so I can have a visual. These are extremely fun to do to pair up your designs with your fabric choices. I love them!!!! So do the kiddos!!!

I get it! Usually I cheat and do 1 side of the pillow case. Then I do not have to worry if something is upside down. Lol! I will try to do better now that I have the instructions. Thank you

Thanks for sharing. I would be turned inside out and upside down without these great pictures and instruction.

And then you would be much more dizzy! I'm 'drunk'/dizzy right now, but I am about to get off line (scrolling, you know).

I have a most difficult time doing upside down, and inside out, left side near the window, and sausage in the pan..................I'll return to look at your photos often instead of having to re-invent the wheel every time.
THANK YOU!

That's a good way to put it-lol- you're most welcome. Like I said I need these photos too, because it is confusing and so easy to make a mistake. I don't like to rip.

Thanks, at least I know I'm not the only one whose has sewn this contraption; inside out , upside down, as well as inside out. I don't do this often enough to remember! :-) LOL

Oh, I didn't sew it wrong, but I would, IF I didn't pay attention, and t-h-i-n-k . I have some more to do, so I wanted some reference photos.

Leaha by Leaha 26 Sep 2014

The reference photos are great I plan to save this page for my next attempt at these...thank you so much.

Toogie - you are my favourite person now. I have searched everywhere to find out the correct lay out when you embroider the name, but as everyone makes these pillowcases layed out differently it was impossible. Thanks so much for the pictures. My grandkids love these types of pillowcases but I could never work out the name placement. Gunna dust off my machine and start embroidering again for Christmas xx

I am just happy to help. These photos are for me, as much as anyone. I know it does a mind good to think and figure things out, but NOT every time!-lol

ps. what size do you cut your cuffs? One pattern says 9 inch and one said 11 inch. I used 9, but 11 would give you 1 more inch for emb designs. One also called for 3 inch trim but personally, I find that too wide.

dietcoke by dietcoke 27 Sep 2014

I do the border(cuff) 9 inch, the trim 2 inch wide and the body about 26inch.

toogie by toogie 27 Sep 2014

I do just like you except body 27 inch, and I sew it all together with the serger, not taking but about a 3/8 in seam. I then finish the whole case, with a french seam. Thanks
