Spent five hours today cleaning up the daylily garden, preparing soil and planting 32 clumps of daylilies and I'm beat. It's enough to make you appreciate air conditioning, a soft chair and the luxury of feeding different colors into your machine to create beauty! I know it will be beautiful in June, but for right now, I can hardly tell a difference.

Usually I plan out by color what goes where, but I didn't have that information this time, so it's by chance if they are arranged nicely. Something to dream about in winter!

I love day lilies and miss them. I had them at 2 of our 3 houses. I know that they will be beautiful next year.

I need to split mine. Not enough hours in a day -- during the summer!

I've just come in from gardening - it's Spring here in Australia. I've pruned all the Banksia roses as there was a lot of dead wood. Cut back our hedges and pruned Grace and George our weeping Grevilleas - you can see a pair of Lorikeets in George (I called him George after George Burns who had a crooked stance - my George has a bent stem). I still have to plant 2 Kangaroo Paws down in the back and a Gardenia - but I've got blisters from the pruning shears! Maybe later in the week. Can't wait to see your daylilies when they bloom. I've got stacks of Sweet Peas trying to flower! Love Chris

Wow, Chris - we didn't know! You've been quite the busy girl, for a long time. This didn't just happen overnight!

I've discovered the water proof Bandaids are great over blisters when pruning must continue or all is not quite healed yet - provides a nice cushion.

Ah, winter. Catch up on stitching, knitting, backlog of good books, and downloads, of course.

You will be able to have a really pretty rainbow, however they come out. I can only grow silk flowers...have 2 black thumbs! :-P

I have a black thumb with house plants. Best to let God do the watering in my case, as I tend to drown things. Ooops.

I'm sure it will be Beautiful. You will have to put up a pic when it's all in bloom, then you will be rewarded for your efforts, I'm sure.

This year was real pretty early - lots of rain. Then sorta scorched looking.
