I procrastinated for a long time too. Finally tried it and it's so fun. I started with Sonia Showalter's designs. They turned out so beautiful. Now I can't seem to stop. Love it. Someday I might try a village.
I love FSL as it is the easiest thing to do, especially as the (well digitised) designs have no stops or jumps; just start the machine and that's it.
But you are right, there are beginners' designs that are called FSL and look like it, but can only be stitched on organza as they would otherwise fall apart. Quality counts, especially in lace designs.
You are so right , wish I could afford another machine to do nothing but FSL. Been visiting the tavernmaker site for yrs. now and she use to post here on cute./Lillian
I must tell you all a cute story. I first tried FSL angels, just a couple, to see how I liked it. (Yes!) Then my husband saw them......I stitched several last year for our Christmas tree and to send in cards. My dear husband is now saying... "Don't you think you should start stitching some more FSL ? Christmas is just around the corner you know." He is hooked, keeps telling everyone how I stitch out lace. It is too funny!
Hugs, Nadyne
I was hooked the first time I tried FSL and haven't stopped since. And my house shows how addicted I am to FSL.
Sadia has some nice free designs under special downloads, gift 2009 is pretty fsl snowflakes and on the 1st page there is a small Christmas wreath to try
Yes, Sadia's many free designs are elegance personified. Rove her site, lots of freebies. She has been very generous..
start small, don't choose a entire Christmas village as your first project. And if you mess up don't get discouraged, try again until you get it right. I love fsl
