Cannot believe we are mid winter (South Africa) and the temp outside is 26c. Time to get out into the garden

Well Sarah it's a hot summer here with temps over 100 degrees F. wish I had a garden but my friends in the community that do are keeping us in fresh veggies. Son N law always had a large garden but his mum died 9 mos. ago and it was her land that he had his garden on. Now it's all up for sale, so no garden for him this yr.. Hugs Lillian

In the U.S. I always say an hour spent cleaning in the garden in Jan. or Feb. is worth 3 hours in the heat of June. I'm sure you can switch the months and get my gist. Early cleanup is so much more effective than chasing after weeds after they've taken over!

It's been beautiful here too - only about 21C but crystal clear days, cold mornings and gorgeous sunshine. Amy, Ophelie, Delphi and I were at the beach again today it was fabulous. Love Chris

Thanks Patricia - I see it is going to be freezing. Such a shame as the Oyster Festival starts today for 10 days.
