I've been on a gardening jag this month, as I had many new daylilies to plant inside my rock walk/wall I built this spring. When my DH got home today at lunch, I was still outside planting. When I came in, he was surprised I had still been out there and told me it was 99 degrees. I sat very still for 30 minutes and tried to recoup. Wouldn't have been so worn out if he had not told me what temp I had been slinging dirt in! They are all done (82) except two in pots which may remain in pots a few weeks! I'm ready to stitch in the cool and look down on my beautiful gardens. It'll be like not working at all! I may stitch some flowers, however!

Yes , show us a photo of your hard work. it has been in the 90's here in Georgia too. It takes me 30 minutes each night to water everything. Last year by July , everything was dried and burned up. I am trying to save my tomato and pepper plants. Kay

I do not know about this gardening. It is hit or miss. I started a cutting garden this year and I have a small vegetable garden. The problem is an invasive species called Chinese Elm. I forgot to spray my Jim Baker's natural bug repellent and they ate the leaves off my marigolds which are protecting the tomatoes from slugs. Also it is not growing fast enough for me. I want flowers NOW!

I can relate. I have spoiled my flowers all spring and now they are demanding water in this heat wave. Deep water. I don't know Chinese Elm, but I once fought a losing battle with baby Mimosas that came as a "gift" in potting soil - three years and they won.

Lol! Thanks for the tip. Mimosa is my favorite scent. They had these perfume compacts way back when and oh it smelled so nice. I am still battling mint I think out there, and today wow looks rhubarb but not?

Oh and the bugs pretty much finished off my cucumber and especially liked the pumpkin leaves. My daughter is going to get me something organic??? whatever that means.

Between your daylilies, building a rock walk/wall and the landscaping we are doing the world ought to be a mighty pretty place... well may not so much; I have two black thumbs and can't grow a thing! So I'm planting rocks and trying to grow them! Plants look at me scream, pick up their little roots and hightail it out of Dodge!!! So I have to resort to the silks. :-P

I have a black thumb with indoor plants as I overwater. But I do okay in the yard, where I let God be in charge!

When I was little, my Mother got tired of my sister picking the first daffodils of spring and she "planted" silk ones in the bed and watched her come home from school and try to pick them!

That is a really cute story, I'll be she didn't do it very often after that. LOL

I moved from a house with a garden to a second story apartment, obviously with no garden. I miss my flowers... What fun you had with your garden! Lucky you... Thanks for sharing.
