It has often caught my attention and have thought to now ask: Why in some instances do the number of 'flowers' awarded, when one clicks the specific button, escalate immediately in larger increments? Was 2, with one click becomes 5. (by way of example). While in most others, they go up one by one?

It means that lots of people are clicking that flower about the same time you are. If you refresh the page right before you click the flower you may find they only advance by one -- most of the time.
