Can anyone give me a bread recipe with no flour in it?/I just got tested for my hives and they say i am allergic to wheat,beef,cheese, potatoes,eggs,barley,corn,lettuce,fish that;s all :(:(

Now i want to make myself some bread.

If you have a bread making machine, Carolyn, I can send you a copy of a pamphlet I got from Red Star Yeast, the maker of my bread machine, especially for people that need to be gluten free, like me. You'll have to watch carefully, because some of the breads use potato starch, but most don't. They're MUCH better than the "cardboard' breads you buy in the health food stores at such outrageous prices! PM me with your post address, I'll send you copies. Too bad about the cheese, I have a dill/cheddar cheese bread that's just superb! Find out if you can use one of the cheese substitutes, some are pretty good. I understand your frustration. when I got tested 3 yrs. ago, mine were not a scratch test but a blood test that got sent to a place in Texas (which is the only place that does such an indepth testing). I had to go to a Homeopath Dr. and he figured I had at least 30 food allergies (he started out by telling me I had a LOT of them - enough to kill me - not that by themselves is dangerous, but because I had so many). He got me tested and it came back as 36 food allergies/sensitivities. I had been very sick and when found this out and started cutting these foods out, I then dropped some weight and started feeling much better - still takes time as you have taken a lot of the harmful foods (to you).
The results sent by the clinic said to quit eating these foods for preferrably 6 months but a year would be better and then try reintroducing them one at a time (the same way you did with your kids - one new food per week). Some things you will be able to handle again and some you won't - it depends if it's an allergy or sensitivity to that food.
I haven't made bread yet (chicken me), but I have found that what tthey use for gluten free breads is a combination of white rice flour, tapioca flour and some other things. I also have to use a substitute for eggs - can't have chicken eggs, but there are other kinds out there - I have quail eggs (a real pain as they are so small).
I see you can't have fish. I can have all but two kinds of fish. (That's the difference with having the testing done that I did and the scratch test - the scratch test only gives you the category not the actual.)
I have found an awesome receipe for pancakes and my hubby loves them and he's fussy - strangely, I am the one who has never been fussy about pancakes, but I really like these and my daughter called for the receipe and when she went to her inlaws she made them and her FIL really liked them and shocked everyone by asking for seconds!
I now find when we go out - if we have burgers, some of the buns bother me and some don't. Good thing i don't like coffee as that's one of the things I can't have.
There are receipes out there, but you'd have to try a gluten free one to avoid the wheat.

I'm not sure if there are stores called the "Bulk Barn" - they carry a lot of the different types of flour. Also, if you have "Nutter's", they also carry the bulk flours. (the Bulkl Barn is usually just a little cheaper than Nutter's.)

I went on allrecipes.com and found this recipe for oatmeal blueberry pancakes but did not find one for flourless bread. There is soy flour and almond flour that I used when I was on the Atkins diet but I never made bread just brownies and a pie crust. this link is to the page with the recipe. when you get to the site, of course there will be a pop up wanting you to join there is no cost for this, It's a great site with lots of good stuff . Talk to your doctor. High doces of acetylsalisylsyra (donĀ“t know what it is called in english, may have the effect that allergi disapear. This happened to my sister. She broke her knee skeiting and had to take paincillers for half a year. In high doces. And her allergi to cats, dog, horses. flour and a lot more diaspeared or became a lot less

Sorry to hear your diagnosis - got mine last fall - and I have WAY more things on my "bad" list so I understand where you are at. Do know that sometimes things show up positive in the scratch test but you are not actually allergic to them. Talk to your Dr but I bet they will say you can stop all the "bad" things for a while and then try one of them and see if you have a reaction with just that one item added back. Milk is on my bad list but I find I am able to eat cheese without a reaction. Do read EVERY label - there is a TON of stuff you would not think is in something, but is. Rice would be my first suggestion to look towards - there are lots of rice based things - even breads - and I think rice noodles are pretty good! Then there are lots of nut based crackers, etc. - you did not say no nuts (no nuts for me) - you can check on those too. Luckily you don't mention soy - soy seems to be in everything - even chocolate candy (you can guess how I know this). If Canada has the same food labeling requirements it should be easy to spot the wheat, eggs and cheese (milk) because they are part of the top 8 food allergies. The others, read, read, read.... I wish you the best in finding things you like. Know you have lots of friends here to bounce things off and it sounds like lots of us know what you are going through... Hugs.

There is something called spelt. Would this work for you? If you google spelt lots will come up.
How about rice crackers or those puffed rice cakes-they are pretty good with peanut butter on them, if you can have peanut products.

Sorry to hear, but lots of good stuff left to eat, good answers too and chickpea flour is also gutenfree, hope your family will work with you on the change of diet, with all the good links her you will find some nice alternatives

Your problem is a really hard one, Carolyn! My husband is Celiac and cooking for him was quite a learning curve but boy, you've got him beat! You also have to remember to check out the ingredients in every thing! Watch out for condiments too, as we know that Heinz products are fine for dear husband as their distilled vinegar is made from corn but that is a no-no for you and then I was found you that biscuit recipe and was so proud of myself for maybe being able to help you only to discover that Xanthum gum is made from corn too so that did not help you either. I've not given up and will keep looking for for you.
Maybe if you could talk with a nutritionist it would help.

My sympathies Carolyn. If I were you I'd follow up the advice below about rice.
I once asked my daughter if she was thinking of being tested to identify her allergies. She said no, because the answer would probably be wheat and milk so life wouldn't be worth living!

Once you eliminate the foods from your diet that are causing problems, you will notice that you will feel so much better all the way around. I have a lot of food allergies, and sometimes I cheat. It isn't worth it.
Try searching for rice flour bread recipes (popular on gluten free recipe pages) and also bean flour recipes. And then there is tapioca flour. The rice flour loaves will not brown as well, but they are still good. Use the above for any breading that you might make too. Tapioca works well for fried chicken coating. Also check your seasonings. Some of them have hidden ingredients, such as corn meal or corn flour.
I have found the best selection of flours to be in the Asian markets. But they may be found in regular grocery stores too, depending on the popularity and area population. Good luck!

Oh, wow, Carolyn at least my allergies are environmental and not food triggered........being a vegan, I get a lot of my protein from pnut butter and beans........am not a big bread fan so don't have any help there....

Oh, this is awful! I have a long list, too, but I can have corn and potatoes. Can you eat rice? Then try rice flour recipes.

I also would try rice flour. My daughter has to use that for Ben (one of the twins) as he has so many allergies as well. You have listed beef, are there other meats you can eat so at least you are getting some sort of protein? Hugs Sarah

Sarah, I haven't eaten any meat or fish for more than 40 years. I can assure you it isn't a necessary part of a healthy diet.

I understand that Sue but on Carolyn's list it was cheese and fish as well so if she is a meat/ cheese eater it will be hard. Always difficult if one is forced to do something and it is not choice.

i can eat some fruit ,chicken,pork rye and oats coffee ,cocoa,and chcolate,the never had a test for my licorice:):)i go again in the fall for other tests!!I would love to be itch free:):)hugs

Try Bread made with Rice and Corn flour as well Carolyn. If you look up Google and type in flourless breads and flourless recipes, stacks of recipes will come up. Love Chris

I'm hoping that you are not allergic to Gluten Carolyn. I was allergic to Wheat but not Gluten. So some of the recipes below are for different types of Gluten Free Bread.

Don't have a collection of those handy, but try google-ing or on a food site like Cooking Light, check out - "rice flour breads" (makes fabulousfluffy, light pancakes), "amaranth recipes." Also Google "Celiac disease" and "Celiac recipes." If you make the switch, you will feel better and according to my friend, lose weight! Woohoo!
