Hi

I relearned what the word frustration means. Outlines and me are definitely not friends. At least not when I have to create them. And outlines give a design definition. Mine definitely looks better with outlines.

This time between the time spend to get my bank sorted out and getting ready to move again, my outlines took time but were eventually perfect.

Then I realized in adjusting the design to fit the outlines and vica verca, I increased the design size slightly. On all 8 designs I'm busy with. And that, folks, was a big problem.

Instead of being 4x4 or smaller, they were now all slightly bigger. But bigger meant they no longer fit a 4x4 hoop.

No problem you say. Just resize them in the original digitizing file. Yeah??? When I restitched them after resizing them slightly, yep, you guessed it, some outlines were out of alignment. So here we go again...

I can only stitch when my son is not home, he says my machine is too noisy. So now I have to wait till after the weekend to see if my fixes worked.

Luckily I had time to stitch out the fixed moon, and the outlines are perfect. So the moon is now under projects. I also had time to stitch out the fixed star, but those outlines still needed work...

There was no time to stitched out any of the other fixes. So here I am, hoping the fixes will work next time I can stitch...

And patience is not a word I am familiar with.

But while I am waiting for time to stitch, I decided to figure out how to change this moon from a filled design to a FSL design. So please wish me luck.

I have not tried FSL designs before, but I think the moon with a few suns or stars will make a nice crib mobile.

Thank you Martine, for patiently answering all my questions on how to create a FSL design. You are a super star!

Best Regards
Anneliese

I am afraid that is a digitiser's lot.
Sometimes, many times initially, trying out new things, experimenting, don't work out as you had wanted or expected. And becoming more experienced does not mean it would not happen - you want to try more complex things and again things won't go as smoothly as you wished for.
Take a break (and some chocolate) when you are about to throw the pc out of the window, otherwise it becomes an even more expensive hobby than it already is. LOL

Too true. If I can just remember to keep on checking the design size frequently... The small increases can really creep up unnoticed.

Well 100% for sticking to it, and I hope you can get more done when your son is not at home. Can you ask your son to wear ear plugs when you are sewing whilst he is there? Close your door and put a door stopper (one of those long sausage shaped things to stop draughts) near the floor to stop noise coming out. I can't believe that he expects you not to sew whilst he is there. There must be some way you can get around this Anneliese. Good luck with everything, love Chris

Hi, the noise is just an excuse, he does not want me to sew. If he walks into the door, I have to immediately stop all sewing, regardless of how close I am to finish stitching a design.

So no, although your ideas are excellent, they won't work here. I am simply not allowed to sew when he is home. And it is his home, I am staying with him...
