My cat used to bring chipmunks and baby rabbits . she never hurt them we had to take them and let them go. I would catch her watching a squirrel and I would say Christine you better not and she would walk off . One time a mouse got in somehow she may have brought it in she was laying in the floor and the mouse went by she did not move I said some lazy cat you are can not even catch a mouse and I went on to the store and when I came home the dead mouse was laying on my table guess she showed me she was not lazy. The one I have now would not hurt any thing.

Mine are all indoor cats, so I don't get any "gifts" from outside, but they love using my room as an amusement park!!!
My sewing room is still an amusement park and the ironing board or behind the PR machine are favourite snoozing places
What a collection of stories! I don't have a story thanks to my friendly pest control man, but I sure did enjoy each and every one who posted.
You need a pest control man in Florida, when I lived there they had some of the biggest bugs I have ever seen. And lots of lizards.
I visited once and the bugs are on steroids I agree! BUT I don't think those things in Florida are called 'lizards'; I think they are know as alligators... LOL
I have my grandmother's brownie recipe, made a batch from scratch, added walnuts baked and set on my screened in porch to cool. When I went to get them...smack dab in the middle of the entire pan was this little squirrel! I threw my hands in the air, screamed and so did he! I quick shut the door; while he did a circle dance in the pan and then ran out the same hole he had chewed in the screen to get in...in the first place. Needless to say in the trash they went...moral of the story if I couldn't have any...he wasn't getting any more.
A good recipe to share with us for the brownies. My daughter lived in a house and they were able to count 20 squirrels at a time out in the garden. They even ate a large hole in the dust/trash bin which was made of very solid plastic.
Post it in Chat or Personal -- as long as your family won't sue LOL. I think there was a post recently asking for casserole recipes too.
Thank you for directing me to the correct place. I'll try and get to it later today. Thanx :)
Since I'm the only one who uses it...ain't likely to happen. :P
It isn't a sewing room story, but a mouse story, I've always had a cat and a dog so I don't know if the cat killed the mouse or the dog did it. I let the dog out and went to bed my husband was getting a snack before bed so I asked him to let the dog in before he came to bed and I went to bed. my pets sleep with us, when he let the dog in he didn't notice the dog had something in his mouth and my dog brought in it my bed and laid in down on the pillow next to my head. I thought it was a toy I went to grab it and felt the fur, needless to say there was some screaming and jumping. Now I always check my pets before I let them in.
Oh I am having palpitations reading this one. My dear cat doesnot have direct access to the house for this reason. Last summer she did get a live mouse into the house and it got away in the hall the hall happened to have a double bass. I became aware of funny noises as the cat was standing at the side of the double bass and was trying to get to the mouse. At that point I didn't know what it was but found out later. I gave up at trying to get what ever it was and went to bed. The next morning my husband saw the mouse quietly walk past him and into the kitchen. It took a great deal of effort to leave us but leave eventually it did. Jen thanks for sharing your story
One afternoon while sewing and I am upstairs. I hear my dog barking and she was getting on my last nerve because I hollered for her to stop. Since she would not I leaped up to open window and give her my your in trouble speech. There to surprise is this squirrel red faced like it was screaming right along with my squeal as it startled me. Dog on ground going nuts trying to climb up on Central Air box and giving it her best to climb the wall to get to Mr Squirrel. These two are a on going story .
Sewing away happily till a huntsman spider (like 12" across) well it seemed that big..... walk out from under my machine.... Conipitions
Still have nightmares :))))
I would have died I'm terrified of spiders I'm afraid to open my sewing room windows in the summer because spiders like to live in the bushes in front of the windows but the biggest one I've ever seen was about 2" and after that I had my husband cut them way down. Where do you live so I don't ever travel there. I live in new york
Oh wow. I looked those up. I don't think I would like that! We had a spider problem for years, but I could never get rid of them. I was having some work done on the house, when the workers stumbled upon their nest (hobo spiders). I had to have an entire wall removed from my house to get rid of them. That was after the workers left and came back the next day with haz-mat suits for protection. The worst thing would be having one run across the pillow just as we turned off the lights, and then not be able to find it once the lights came back on.
