I write all my designs on CD.I have been told the life of a CD is 10 years, so any one backing designs up on CD is advised to rewrite them after about 7 years. This was told to me by a comp."nerd".

Yes, me too.And yet there are some CDs that don't even last that long.I think we had better play it safe with our designs, though, and rewrite after a few years. They are precious!

I personally like the memory sticks to save things plus I use a backup drive.

Thanks for the info. I have designs on floppies and CD's. I really need a jump drive. Gave hints to my hubby yesterday, wonder if he'll remember?

I had work records on CDs 4 years old they are no good now so it might have something to do with type of CD

I didn't know this, but know that the life of CD so much better than the floppy, and then jump drives better. I have not started storing on jumb drives, but have a friend doing that - mainly for space. My machine runs by jump drive, and sometimes I forget what is one what drive. But - we are getting there.

what are jump drives

I think they are those little "sticks" that go into a USB port. Can get them in many sizes memory. Have heard them called "thumb drives" and "flash drives."
