I love the cattle. When I had to sell my Charolais bull last year( because of DH's health) he weighed in at 1850 lbs. He was my baby, as big as he was he was so sweet and gentle. I raised him from the time he was a few days old so I guess I was "Mom". He loved to be feed apples, every time he saw me in my apple orchid he would come running and hang his head over the fence and than all the girls would be there. Hugs..Carol
How fun to have this right next door.........if I lived next to these animals, I would never get any embroidery done......I would be out watching and petting (very cautiously) a lot! Thanks for sharing pic of these amazing animals!
He looks fierce,so no petting of him.The other cows were friendly though. They came right up to me at the fence.
Hope that's an electric fence!! He looks like he could just walk right thru it! But he is a pretty animal.
he keeps his hear turned maybe he thinks all of the cows are going to charge him at one time.
sure pretty animals.
hug Lenammar
Pehaps he was playing "hard to get", with all those ladies looking at him. The tan cow (#3) sure is a pretty girl.
But I'm with you toogie - the barbed wire doesn't look like it would hold any of them back for long if they decided to make a run for it. I wouldn't like to provoke the big boy if I were you either!
No,just the look he did give me, when he swung his huge head toward me,got my respect.-lol
You should have worn your special hat Toogie....................that would have shifted him.
I wanted him to stand, dennis, not charge!....Did you see my purse in projects? someone said they would have to refer to me as the bag lady.I thought I was remembered as the hat lady.... I think you will always remember me as the hat lady. What do you say?
If he had seen you in your hat Toogie, he would have been like putty in your hands. In my part of the world the bulls don't charge anything to pose for a photograph! You will always be known to me as The Hat Lady.....no question. I did see your purse in projects and as nice as it was, I could not possibly consider you as a 'bag lady' since that title has an entirely different meaning over here....lol.
Toogie you are a grand bag lady, nothing bad, I just meant you are the bees knees when it comes to making these beautiful bags. Your hats are fun and make us smile..........
Very nice photos Toogie! Living in the country is my style. We are on 10 acres of woods, cows are about a mile or so away and we can hear them but not see them till we go to town.
We have 3.6 acres here but neighbor has about 25/30.We have 10 acres where my youngest daughter,Avery's mom lives. It is more wooded and has lot of 'wild' animals. We have about 1 1/2 acres of timber, behind our house, so we only have to mow about 2.My other neighbor has chickens and ducks,so we hear crowing, when we are on the front porch. My front porch goes the length of my house but you can't sit on it in the afternoons, because of the sun.I have a smaller one on the back,of couse they all have rocking chairs,lol..if you have time to sit awhile.
Nice pictures! I can see a Limousin bull and his harem from where I am sitting.
Lovely farm pictures. Thats is what we have here for neighbours as well. But not a lovely black bull. He sure is a handsome fellow. The bulls are not kept near our house here and they are brown. I love the brown cow. We have ones that look just like her. Shirley
i know i wouldn't mess with him. Do you know how to keep a bull from charging Toogie?
You take away his credit card lol

Bev,I went back and edited my Wavy top tote post.It now has the link and a little more info. Thanks for looking!
He doesn't look very happy, even though he has so many pretty choices of females.
He wasn't happy when I did try to get him to get up and he can move fast to be so large, you wouldn't think so.He didn't get up then but he can turn that chunky neck, with the massive head fairly quick-lol I am also positive, that barbed wire fence would not stop him, if he decided he wanted to get through.
He reminds me of a Limousine bull we had once.
