This is our "problem" kid right now.....Cassi. The other 2, Jif and Skip are doing fantastic.......a tad skittish when we walk up to them but for the most part great.......Cassi's problem is that she can't seem to relax...she seems to be on paranoid mode most of the time. If I sit on the floor she will come to me and rub and love on me, but any little noise and I mean little, she is gone!!! I am shocked I got this pic of her this morning, as normally if she thinks you are aiming something toward her, she bolts......this is one of the perches in my sewing room and she has gotten sort of used to the sound of the embr machine.......guess she is just going to take more time, she is the runt of the litter, so don't know if that makes a difference.......we pretty much ignore her and don't look at her when we walk close and that seems to help......BTW, these guys sound like elephants when they run through the house playing and Cassi does engage in play with her sisters...we have a toy basket in the living room and at least twice a day I am picking up their toys strewn all over the house.......they totally empty the basket and sometimes the basket is in another room.......this is a good size basket, too.......LOL!!

She is soooo pretty! She just needs more time to learn to trust. Then she will amaze you with all her affection.

Yes, Jan, I agree, just more time........she is very affectionate when it is just me at home and I sit on the floor and call her to me, but as I said previously, she is on big time alert for the smallest noise and I rarely feel her little body relax.......

She has a cautious look. She may be very smart and perspective. I wish my Ki Ki would play with toys instead of bringing me all the gifts from outside. Sometimes I dread Spring for all her presents. Kay

I know what you mean, Kay, our outside kitties bring us mice tails and heads and leave them by the door stoop.....YUK.......a simple thank you for feeding us would suffice!!

Yes, the runt had it rougher if they were ever feral! The runt knows it may not make it and becomes extremely cautious, which is self-protective.

Aha....I thought that may be the issue.......the runt of the older girls 18 yrs old in May, was similar when we first brought them in, but she was picked on by her sisters and even though she is pretty stable today, her one sister still stalks her......poor baby!

lol!!! She is probably more shy and not the leader of the pack. Some animals are just timid and not outgoing. I'm more a dog person but I can identify with what you are saying. I think they all have a pecking order, do the other kitties seem jealous of her if she gets more attention than the rest? If only they could talk, I think it would be wonderful to know what they are thinking!

Yes, she is more shy.....we have figured that Jif is the ring leader.....when they were in the basement, Skippy was head honcho, but that shifted when we released them to the whole house.....I have read there are bush kitties and tree kitties.....she is definitely a bush kitty, likes keeping close to the ground, Jif and Skip on the other hand, can't get high enough......no one is picking on her which is a good thing, so we will just have patience with her.

She's beautiful. I hope she to a calmer state and doesn't fear noises. I enjoy your updates on these furbabies.

I was watching the bad kitty show, and he turned more than one kitty by feeding them wet cat food from a long handled spoon and then shortening the length until you are there.

Yes, I have seen him do that.....she will come when I shake the treat bag....she is very food motivated.

She is lovely Vicki. We as humans are all different and I sure that goes for animals as well. I am sure that she will calm down as she gets older.

You're quite right, Sarah. I've been known to throw my toys out of the pram in my younger days..................but I have calmed down with age!

Oh, so you are the culprit, Dennis, here I have blaming the kittens!

I actually do not know what we are going to do with Dennis!!!!

Lovely picture of Casi. Cats are fun I remember when we had 4 kittens at once. Great fun but we only have one cat now. This morning she brought a full sized rabbit in which had to be captured and removed outside to its freedom

You could have had Welsh Rarebit for supper, Caroline.
