When I go to the thread mill in North Carolina once or twice a year, the manager (lady) calls the owner (man) to come entertain my DH. They sit on the swing on front porch and talk theology and politics and weather and have a great time. They are kindred spirits - believers, Democrats (ugh!) and similar age, farm background.
