Our sewing skills follow us everywhere. Today I was in the yard working on my rock walkway. First order of business was cutting and folding the landscaping fabric in 8' x 3' lengths. Next was, how to make my very straight doubled 4'x 3' lengths curve for the walkway's curves. Of course, you all know, take a pleat half way down the curve, set a rock on it, and keep going. I tore out 8 feet of walkway that the ants had made beds in, set my fabric down and relaid all that pretty rock. Wish I had a camera I could upload with. The walk looks real nice so far. 12 feet left to go on about 150' walkway. Two inches of rain due in tonight, so I get a stitching break from the yard tomorrow.

Dear Mrs. Cheap,
I would like to add my congratulations for the work that you are doing but why do you have to stop, with only twelve feet left to do? Just because it's dark and raining is no excuse to get the sewing machine out. Take a flashlight and an umbrella with you..........................lol

I am proud of you and I know how much hard work you have performed as I laid brick edging along front and side of my house 20 yrs ago. I bought 50 paver brick at a time and loaded in my car trunk. It took me a long time to complete Kay

I've laid brick too at a former house. We had a flood and the concrete sidewalk heaved. They wanted nearly $1,000 to clean up and redo. I paid a man to jackhammer the concrete and haul it away, then lay a 6" bed of sand ($300). I laid the brick on sand three times before I liked the pattern and it was precise enough. All my neighbors were jealous and said THEY wished THEY could afford to replace their nasty builder-installed sidewalks with the brick look. They didn't realize Mrs. Cheap was at work! hehehe
